My FH was just talking to my FMIL about the centerpieces we want... and she asked me how people are going to take the clear tube home? I was like huh?? she said that as long as the flowers arent in a candelabra that the guests take the whole thing home???? maybe im retarted but i never heard of this I thought they just take the flowers? Now her and my fh are yelling at me that they never heard of such a thing and what would they do with just the flowers. I am so whos wrong??

Re: HUH?????
I think your right. I thought you rent the stands. I would think if someone takes one you have to pay for it. JMO

Re: HUH?????
Only the centerpieces get taken home... not the actual stand it's on. You're right... they are wrong.

Re: HUH?????
I guess it depends on the type of centerpieces you have!! I was at a wedding where the centerpieces were cornocopias and they were all taken home! I can't imagine someone taking home a candelabra!! come on now!!

Re: HUH?????
well thats my issue with the topiaries..the guests have to take the whole thing home but everyone seems to think that that's not a problem..how the hell are the guests going to take the whole thing home..i was told that the regular stands like the tubes are left and the centerpieces on top are taken..

you'de be surprised what people feel they can 'help themselves' to at weddings. i have heard that some guests have asked for a doggie bag if they didn't finish their meal.

I would then tell that if her family does take the whole thing home, then she will be responsible for the extra cost.

Re: HUH?????
usually the people who work at the ahll will make sure ot ocllect the stands - if they are missing any you will have to pay for them and its pretty $$$...apparently a few months before our wedding there was af ight at our hall and it ade trhe news - it turned out that someone tried to take the stnad and when the staff stopped him ,he punched them!

Re: HUH?????
my catering hall supplies the stands for the centerpieces to be placed on....so the guests should know that only the flowers are allowed to leave, not the stand! you might have to make a game out of who takes home the centerpiece-this way your FMIL cant say anything AND you wont have to dish out extra $ bc of it...

Re: HUH?????
The arrangement detaches and guest take the flowers only!
