Hump Day QOTD 1/29/2013

Happy hump day. Thank god this week is almost over. I feel like it has been dragging, So my question today is a two part question. As we are getting closer and closer to our weddings what do you still have left to do? Also have you had any dreams yet regard your wedding.

For me I still have invitations to figure out, limos, favors, what our colors are, the bridesmaid dresses, hair/makeup, tuxs and some other little things. I had a nightmare last night that all those things I still need to get done weren't done on the day of my wedding. I for some strange reason flew in from Jamaica the of the wedding, was red beyond belief, my makeup and hair person never showed. Guest were arriving at all different times, all my bridesmaids were in different dresses. For some reason my whole family was in the bridal suite expecting their makeup done. My photographer never showed up and I was sitting in a corner balling my eyes out. I have almost never been so happy to hear my alarm go off.

We have left limo, hotel block, invitations, bridemaid dresses (which has me slightly stressed) and I'm sure some other things that I can't think of right now...

It's funny you ask about wedding nightmares because since joining I've seen lots of people post about nightmares they've had and unitl I had one I couldn't understand... I've had the same one a couple of times now- wedding is taking place in my parent's house (which is not where it is going to be) and I find all of the bridal party in the den trying to figure out how to keep from me that the dj and photographer didn't show up.... Super weird and not fun...

I haven't had a wedding nightmare in a while but don't remember what they were about. My friend texted me the other morning freaking out because she had one (she is getting married July 2015)! I'm sure they'll start picking up as the planning gets to be more stressful.

As far as progress, we have made very little. Basically we only have our venue booked and photographers researched. This website makes me feel really behind :(

I still have a lot left to do. My list of what I have done is a lot shorter lol- church, venue, photographer, videographer, dj, photobooth.

As for wedding nightmares I've had a few. Ironically I have one every night after I go to a bridal expo lol.

Don't feel behind! I am a planner, I like to know how much things are going to cost so I can save and make a plan. When we liked a vendor and made a good connection we stopped looking. I didn't want to go crazy meeting a ton of vendors. Do things at your own pace

I second Amanda. I plan on moving to PA before the wedding so I wanted to make sure I had all the main things done and taken care of.

Thanks ladies! I know it will all eventually get done. It's just frustrating! We already live away from LI- I am upstate and he is in western PA. I get so jealous when I see everyone making progress and I can't even meet with a vendor!

I know the feeling! We live in NJ & it is really hard to make appointments. We try to jam pack a lot into our trips but a lot of vendors can't meet on weekends. I still have a lot to do :(

i'm barely engaged a month and i've already had one where everyone is all ready and waiting for me to take pictures and i realize that i never hired anyone to do my make up and hair. it's like an hour until i walk down the aisle and i look like i just woke up. terrible.

Don't feel bad. I have a long distance relationship and I live in Long Island. I try to put things off so that when the FH is here we can do things.

I realized I do have so much. left to do BUT I did all My research so the shopping around part is pretty much done!
I have my dress, tuxes, bridesmaids dresses, gifts, std, invites, rehearsal dinner, registry, honeymoon, favors, florist, guitar player for ceremony and cocktail hour, hotel block...... I'm gonna stop before I stress out again lol

I haven't had a nightmare yet thank God!!!! I did however have a really good dream that makes me excited to go dress shopping!
I hope this doesn't freak anyone out....
idk if you all know so I'll start with my grandma wanted nothing more then to see me get married in a dress she bought for me that she took me shopping for.... she passed away 10 days after Wer got engaged! it's been really hard to want to try on dresses bc she won't be there physically! I think she will be there in spirt though, but I need to hear her tell me she will be there...I believe in mediums so Im gong to see one Feb 10!

ok fast foward to this past Monday, I was hanging out with my girl friends and we were talking about my dress and idk if grandpa knows what grandma wanted to do, idk if h he's paying, how do I ask that, do I ask him to come now there was so much I needed to know.

ok so now I go to bed Monday night ( sorry o had to give u the background do u understand)
I all if a sudden have this dress that the phone rings and I pick it up and the person on the other end says 'Hi Rosie' I instantly recognized the voice but I ask anyway 'Who is this?'
she replies ' It's GRANDMA, I hated wanted to tell u I got a room, I'm in room 106' I'm like this can't be grandma, someone is messing with me! so I ask 'What do u mean' she says ' I got a room in the hospital, it's 106, everything will be ok' I'm thinking there us no Tom's on the first floor of the hospital she was always in so I asked ' Who. it's there with you?' she tells me ' Aunt Maggie' great ' put her on the phone' thinking this will help prove who is messing with me. I start yelling for FH, who comes to me first....Aunt Maggie! I'm like great she isn't there so this is really someone messing with me..... the line goes dead I. wake up ......crying! I tel.FH. about the dream and he decided to look up the meaning of the number 106 ...... in short it is an angels number, if you. are worried about materialistic things and/or money don't stress, your angel wants you to know everything willbe ok!!! I. gu fullybelieve she heard me taking to my friends and knows I needed to talk to her so she came to me in that dream!!! how amazing is that!!!!!??? I still don't know what our why FH looked up the meaning of that number I. would have never. thought of that! I .asked him too and he doesn't really know either....but I'm so glad he did!!!!

Unfortunately I have a ton of stuff to do still, since I'm currently out of state for grad school planning is going slow and I'm getting nervous. I only have the venue booked for the ceremony and reception. Hopefully soon I'll be able to do some more stuff so I don't feel so behind!

I had one wedding nightmare so far. It was the day of and the hair/makeup people never showed up! So right before my ceremony my bridal party was rushing to do my hair and makeup and I was freaking it. It ruined all of the plans to get the pictures done before the ceremony and I looked like a mess! Lets hope this doesn't happen!!!

I still have what feels like a decent amount to do but all my major vendors are booked for the most part (flowers and limo are two majors ones left). I'm entering busy season at work so I probably won't be able to jump back into planning much until April-ish.

Haven't had any dreams about wedding yet, good or bad :(
