My fiance and I just signed on a new house in Huntington last night!!!! Anyone else live there? I'm nervous about the commute to the city everyday... but everything else seems wonderful about it!! It's right near the village too!

Re: Huntington?
Huntington is really nice. I live in Nortport - 2 towns over. I commute to the city every day - there is a 7:45 from Huntington that gets to Penn around 9am (maybe a few mins earlier). It's really not bad at all. Parking at the RR station is pretty bad - go to the top of the parking gharage on the South side of the track - there will be spots on the very top level. Congrats on your new !

Re: Huntington?
Thanks!! Unfortunately I work on the east side of Manhattan and further up than Penn, so it's another 25 minutes for me to walk to my job (I do it now, but I'm much closer in on Long Island). I'm sure I'll get used to the commute though. If not, I'll just have to get pregnant really quickly...

Re: Huntington?
I don't commute from Huntington but you might want to see if you can take the train to Hunterspoint. A former coworker used to do that when we worked on the east side. You get off at Hunterspoint and then take the 7 train two stops to Grand Central.

I will do that when it's too cold to walk!! For now, I have to save every dime, meaning no subway costs in addition to LIRR costs - AND of course I need the exercise!

Huntington Rules. If you want any suggestions on places to go eat, let me know. My mom works on main street. (Her business puts on the free shows in the park during the summer.) Go to the Book Revue... it's the best book store ever.

Re: Huntington?
Huntington is a great place to live. I commuted to the city from huntington for 9 years. It wasn't that bad. I would get all of my bills and banking done, read, sleep and get work done on the train.
