I don't love the neighborhood by the train station.

Re: Huntington Station map question again

I actually like the area near where the little homes of middle-income housing (I think that's what they are) are but I don't know what street that is. My DH is still like 'are you kidding me' but I think it's cute over there.

I so badly want a shorter commute!

you could always drive around the neighborhood and see what you think

there is a pocket of really nice homes over there. I think that is a desireable area. but once you cross over pulaski you have housing thats for low income.

Actually that area isn't bad but the surrounding areas are a little sketchy. I would drive the neighborhood and take a look.

My friend recently bought a house on Caldwell and she really likes the area. I think there are lots of young couples buying in that area because it's somewhat affordable. It is on the edge of the icky part of Huntington Station. The school district is ok. It's South Huntington schools - not fabulous, but from what I've heard it's not that bad either.

It is a not so bad area! I actually live in the area! It is a cute area but if you go further north(north of Pulaski or even West of NY Ave) it does get sketchy

Re: Huntington Station map question again

what do you mean by 'huntington station schools?' the districts that make up the 'station' are huntington and south huntington. neither districts (IMO) are the greatest. the elem level in both districts aren't bad, however the jr high's and hs's (again, IMO) are less then desireable.

I did an appraisal over in that area today though a bit further south away from the RR.

The further east you are from 110, the nicer the area gets. East of Depot road is pretty decent though you are a bit close to 110 & the RR there...
