is it 'wrong' to have a huppa if you're not jewish??
i'm having an outside ceremony, overlooking a lake and i'm not too crazy about an arch.
any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Re: huppa for a non-jewish wedding....question
I'm not Jewish, but from my understanding the huppah is supposed to represent your home.
I don't think it would be considered disrepectful to have one. I think it's a sweet tradition and I don't personally see anything wrong with using it. You're embracing something from another faith, to me that's commendable!!

In my opinion, it's not at all offensive or inappropriate... you're probably borrowing ideas from all over for your wedding - magazines, friends, LIW boards. Why not borrow a lovely tradition that people have been using for centuries? It's your wedding and you get to make it a mixture of anything that's right for you.
