My parents are near Tampa and have decided to stay in their home, despite the evacuation.
I'll keep your mom and everyone else down there in my thoughts.

Yikes- I wish her a lot of luck! I sat through Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and it was not a fun day! Just remember- things can be replaced so as long as she is safe, everything will be ok.
