Hurt by my best friend/ MOH
So me and my MOH have been best friends for 8 years. We've been through so much together and making her my MOH was an easy choice. She was there when I got engaged and has been super excited to be part of the wedding. Earlier this year she experienced some really exciting life changes she bought a brand new car she's been saving up for and has gone back to school to finish her degree. But now her personality has changed really drastically she criticizes everyone we know for not having nice cars or owning a house. Calls everyone losers for not having a career or going to school. I got tired of the constant people bashing and told her that everyone is different some people don't care about material possessions or it's more difficult some people more than others. She didn't answer my texts messages for days then proceeded to go on Facebook and write a huge rant on how people don't support her because they are jealous of her. She finally answered my texts and said she has been busy and when I asked her if she wanted to talk about something she said everything was good between us. That was back in late October. Now she continues to post stuff on Facebook about people wasting thousands of dollars on weddings instead of buying a nice car or house or going back to school for your degree. But every time I confront her about the posts she says it's not about me. I took her for her word but ever time I ask her to hang out she gives me an excuse. Last week I texted her asking if she was off Saturday so I can give her, her Christmas gifts she told me she was hanging with a friend from out of town and I was okay with that. What she failed to realize though is that her said friend added me on Facebook a while back and had posted on that same Saturday that she was home (not in NY) watching Christmas movies. I was extremely hurt then livid. If she doesn't want to be friends anymore why can't she just tell me instead of all this passive-aggressive crap. I've asked her numerous times about it and she is never honest. I'm just so fed up at this point I don't know what to do. Sorry for the long post but it's been building up for months.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this :/You might want to ask yourself if it's worth keeping her as a friend even though she is different. Can you look past her comments and actions? Do you still want to be friends despite what has happened?

Idk part of me just wants to say whatever you do what you want and move on but another part of me wants to fight for our friendship but it's hard because she just flat out refuses to admit to me that anything is wrong.

Sorry you are going through this but I can totally relate. Try not to let the Facebook comments and posts upset you. And as far as her saying she was hanging out with a friend and lied about it, that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Not sure why she had to lie about it. If I were you I would sit down with her and have a heart to heart and decide from there where your relationship goes from there. I was in a very similar situation with my bf at the time. I know she was going through a difficult time after I got engaged but I was always present for her, constantly reaching out to her and started seeing the relationship as being one sided. Definitely have a talk with her and decide from there. Good luck sweetie and please don't allow this to take away from planning your special day.

Hopefully one day she'll stop giving me excuses whenever I ask her to hang out so we can talk about it but so far she's bailed on our plans for about 2 months now. Thank you for the advice I'll try not to let her posts get to me.

Great questions to ask yourself. Sorry to hear this. Especially being that you made her a maid of honor. But I just can't stand that passive aggressive BS. It's time to confront this girl. It will save you grief in the long run.

I'm hoping it's all just a phase. I think I'll just give her some space and see if she wants to work out the friendship because at this point it seems like I'm the only one who cares.Welcome New Vendors
