husband's cooking

husband's cooking

my husband's cooking is usually OUT OF THIS WORLD - and he enjoys cooking, which is a huge plus considering I HATE it :)
but last night - I came home from working out and he had tried this new receipe - a new spin on mac and cheese - kinda fancy with many cheeses. he had worked on it for awhile - had the recipe book out and everything.
I could tell he wanted me to say I love it!!
but honestly, i thought it was only OK.
he not only asked me if I love it but, when should we make it again :(
and in his usual style, he made TONS, so quess what I had to take to work for lunch :)
i just hope next time he wants to make it, we 'mysteriously' misplace the receipe :)
the thought that counts :)

yea, really. what do you live in like some kind of sit-com world?

You can always say you didn't like the cheese or something - make the focus of it the food itself, rather than his cooking. This works for me because I'm very finicky, my FH would not ever take it personally. But don't tell him you loved it if you don't! You'll get stuck eating it all the time!

Tell him that you liked it but you like the Regular old fashioned Mac & Cheese better. Maybe he'll get the hint.

Yeah I agree with telling him that it wasn't the type of cheese that you liked. You can't tell him it was great because then you'll get stuck with it again and not to mention having to take to work another time.

I am learning how to cook myself so I would want my husband to be honest with me about something I make. If he only says to make me feel better then I'll just think he really likes and make it again and inside he'll be forced to eat it.

I made a pasta dish last night and I had my mom help because it's something she makes. It came out really good and DH loved it. I did have my mom next to me and helping me. I did the work all she did was supervise because it was the first time I made this. Next time I'll do it totally on my own.

LOL!

I could never eat food that my husband cooked...because I would be passed out on the floor that he cooked in the first place.

Just ignore it.

I think you should tell him the truth. If you don't want to have to force yourself to eat this over and over again, you better fess up

I am sure he wont mind. Keith and I both cook and once in a while one of us makes something that the other doesn't like. Its not a big deal.

This reminds me of something that happend in my house, One time years ago my mom decided she wanted to make something different! So she got this recipie for some kind of orange chicken! She was all excited to try this new meal!

We all sat down and ate and tried not to show how HORRIBLE it was, and I am NOT exaggerating! Then my mom makes this face and says man this is gross! So we all gave a big sigh of relief that we didnt have to eat it!

We gave it to the dog, who would eat ANYTHING you gave her! She just loved to eat and never turned down food! She took one bite and walked away, she wouldnt even eat it!

My mom is usually a great cook but to this day we have not let her forget the Orange Chicken Experiment!

You have the perfect opportunity since you ate the leftovers for lunch.

Tell him, , you what, I ate the rest of that mac & cheese, and I think something's a little off. maybe try it with a different cheese?
