Has anyone gotten married there, or been to a reception? FH and I are thinking about booking there and was wondering how they are. I don't see too much on the boards about the Hyatt. Thanks ladies :)

we looked there. the ballroom was nice but the dance floor was ridiculousy scuffed and i wasnt impressed by the people working there. they had a good menu and a decent price but we just didnt feel comfortable booking there plus we fell in love with the woodlands

So sorry for the random/late response--I dont get on here too much anymore.
DH and I got married at the Hyatt and we LOVED it. The staff was amazing and the food was awesome (we still get compliments to this day). They went above and beyond to make my day special.
FM me if you have any questions.

Re: Hyatt Regency in Hauppauge
a friend of ours was married there a few years ago... they had a hindu ceremony, a civil ceremony and their reception... the hyatt did a wonderful job converting the space for each... they did a buffet and i didn't eat much, because i'm allergic to a lot of things and most of the food was indian food... and well, i can't eat that. but the dessert was DELISH! the only issue was when they did their parade outside and a few custom things, in their pictures you can see hotel guests... in bathing suits and speedos.
also, dh's company has their holiday party there EVERY YEAR... because its the only place big enough to have it.... again, its buffet, this year the food was REALLY good, last year it was okay... it really depends on what they have at the buffet and what people like.. and with all my allergies, I'm limited.
as for the floor... I've never noticed the scuffs.... when I was looking for a hall the first thing I looked at was the floor... I was so picky. but honestly, for the majority of the reception, the lights are low... you can't see the floor. and if people are dancing on it... you really can't see it.
the plus side of the hyatt... they gave our friends a few bottles of alcohol at the end of the night as a gift... AND your guests can party then go up to their room (if they book one) and not have to worry about a DD. and you can ask for a late check out.. they are very lenient about that.
