I blocked 25 rooms with the Hyatt. Or at least I am SUPPOSED to have 25 rooms.
My room block expires in a week and all of the last minute procrastinators were trying to book their rooms this weekend...only to learn that my block is 'sold out' and the entire rest of the hotel is sold out as well for the entire weekend. Nice.
Friday afternoon, I got an updated list of whos booked and only 14 of 25 were booked. And then on Saturday theres nothing available and no one can help me figure it out because the Sales Mgr is on vacation?!?

That blows! I am convinced that hotels are probably the WORST vendors when planning a wedding. Are they handwriting each reservation because I don't get why there can be so many mixups.

Can you get another block at a nearby hotel?
Not that this is at all acceptable. Is there anyone else you can speak to before the sales manager returns? A higher level manager?

OMG, i 'm so sorry! there has to be someone else covering for the manager. they can't not have anyone covering for someone else while that person is away on vacation!

Call Bobbi and have her help you, The hotel was all 'booked' on my weekend too...even on Expedia but when I called her she happily was able to add however many more rooms I needed to my original block.

Oh no! that's horrible. I'd call and talk to either the sales manager's boss or the general manager of the hotel. Just because the Sales Manager is out doesn't mean someone can't help you.

Awful! I had the worst time with my room block, too

Thanks girls!
I finally harassed them enough for someone to call me back and straighten it out. The 'opened up the rest of my rooms' and said there was a computer glitch. I have a baddddd feeling that they may really be sold out and they are overbooking.
