Hyatt Regency Wind Watch in Hauppage

Hi all! I'm planning to make an appointment with the Hyatt Wind Watch in Hauppage to use them for our reception! I fell in love with the pictures I've seen and can't wait to check it out.

So I'm wondering, have any of you ever stayed there... eaten there... been to a wedding there?
How was the service? Food? Atmosphere?

Thanks SOOO much in advance! You all are always so helpful!

Hiya! Im getting married at the Hamlet Wind WAtch country club next door, I highly recommend you check them out when you are over there.

I had an appt with the Hyatt but their minimum was way too high for me.

I fell in love with the Wind WAtch CC next door because of the windows and views.. the Hyatt is really just a basement ballroom and lacked atmosphere. The hotel itself is gorgeous though, as are the rooms.

I have never been to a wedding there but I have been to parties there...its pretty good.....the rooms are really nice to.....
They have a really nice area outside that would be really nice for cocktail hour if you where to get married in the warmer weather....

I am also getting married at the country club next door...The only thing I didn't like about the Hyatt is the lack of windows in the hall...there are none..You should def. check out the Hamlet WInd Watch next door!

Re: Hyatt Regency Wind Watch in Hauppage

Hi ..

I just received a copy of the contract from Doris. We want to book the Hyatt for our wedding on October 10, 2009, but I was taken aback as soon as I read the contract. Please see some stipulations from the contract that seem very unfair.

-------------------

DEPOSITS
A deposit of $3,000.00 is required on 10/20/08.
A deposit of $3,000.00 is required on 1/20/09.
A deposit of $3,000.00 is required on 5/20/09.
The balance is due 10 prior to the Wedding.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Either the Hotel or Group may cancel this contract without cause at any time prior to the event by paying to the other party liquidated damages (agreed not to constitute a penalty based on the following scale:

More than six (6) months from arrival date - 50%
Less than six (6) months to one (1) month from arrival date - 75%
Less than one (1) month up to arrival date -100%

Cancellations made under this provision shall be made by the canceling party to the non-canceling party by written notice and payment of the liquidated damages due at that time.

EVENT ROOM
The Hotel reserves the right to assign another room for the Customer's functions in the event the room originally designated for such function shall be unavailable or inappropriate, in the Hotel's sole opinion.
------------------------------

As you can see, the payment schedule is very stiff. Lessing's schedule shows that a payment of 25% has to be provided 45 days before the event. Also, the cancellation policy says that the hotel can cancel the event without any cause. Payment for other vendors are not even enough to cover the damages this situation would cause. And on top of that, they can cancel 1 month before the event!

Can you possibly let me know if these stipulations appeared in your contract? They're not being fair and are not comparable with the other reception places?

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
