Re: I am so frustrated...

*HUGS* What field are you in? What type of position are you looking for? What are the problems at your current position? Unfortunately having your resume posted has just about a 5% chance of resulting in a new position. Networking continues to be the most effective way to find a new position. Talking to all of us counts, so let us know what you are looking for and maybe we know of something!!

Re: I am so frustrated...

Unfortunately I don't have any contacts in healthcare in NY, but hopefully someone here does...

Here is some fairly generic advice that I've found effective in my job searchs. If you don't have a friend inside a company you are interested in, you have to be aggressive. One of the best ways to open a door for yourself is to seek informational meetings with people who are in positions that interest you. It is often most effective if there isn't an opening in their office, so they don't feel like you are putting them on the spot. Basically, call someone up and say, I was hoping that I could speak with you about how you got where you are, I am interested in the same field, yadda yadda. Tell them you are hoping they can give you general advice about where to start. When you meet with them, do not ask about job openings. If there are any it will come up. What you are hoping to get more then anything is more names of people to just talk to. Does that make any sense? I got my current job after a chain of four people, the first of whom I met for an informational interview with someone in the company I was interested in.

Re: I am so frustrated...

Hi Amy,
I just wanted to mention that I submitted your resume a while ago to my HR dept. I don't think we have much available right now but we plan on doubling our sales force within the next 6 months which means almost doubling our open positions. I still have a copy of your resume so I will defintely resubmit it soon.
Sorry you aren't having much luck out there
