I almost spoiled my own surprise!

I was by our office mailboxes and saw something in my boss's mailbox and thought that I would bring it to her (we grab each other's mail all the time). Well, the page was folded in half, but not really creased very well and I saw the first few words (since the friggen font was so big) that said, 'Jann's getting married...' and I quickly made sure it was closed before I could read the rest. I had a feeling that some of my friends were planning an office shower for me, but I wasn't sure. I don't want to spoil the surprise by knowing when it is, so I left it in her mailbox. If I brought it to her, she would think I read it, and I wouldn't want her to feel like I knew about it.

I really don't know anything about it, but of course, now that I know that there's going to be something, the suspense is going to kill me! And I'm going to be mortified by the surprise, since our office is so sneaky about these things and they make a big deal out of it.

But I'm glad I didn't read on...it's nice to know that they're planning something for me and I'd hate to ruin the surprise.

Awwwwwwwwww, that is VERY sweet of your officemates! Good thing that you didn't spoil the surprise. I, too, would like to be surprised... actually, if my co-workers do anything for me, I'd be TREMENDOUSLY surprised... (they don't even remember birthdays, over here!)... lol.

Wow...that is great...but, I think you were in so much shock.................

WHen you saw the first writing....

I am praying..they don't do anything for me at work.... I am extremely shy......................

But, enjoy..at least you know they are thinking about you.

I can't believe my own restraint either. I hate being surprised, but since nothing about my wedding has gone according to plan and I know I'm going to be missing out on a lot of other stuff because we had to change our plans, I guess I wanted something to be the way it's supposed to.

Still...there's about 50 of us here. The surprise parties we give are scary!

I'm a little biased because I've been a legal secretary for nearly 10 years now; but I find, ironically, the employment lawyers were the most harrassing.

At the last firm I worked at, the interviewing partner actually asked me how old I was in the interview.

Lawyers are usually the worst offenders. Probably because we already know a way around the law in case we get caught.

And by 'we,' of course I don't mean to include 'me.'
