I'm so sorry to hear this!!!

I always had the intention of making my cousin my MOH, but for the past few years, she has been such a flighty flake, I couldn't in good conscience make her my MOH. I decided to just have 5 bridesmaids, all equal, not MOH. Now my cousin has decided to move out of the country in September. So even if she had been, she wouldn't be able to fulfill the duties of the MOH anyway!!!

It's quite frustrating, but what I've realized is that until someone is going through the same thing as us (brides), they aren't able to realize how important this actually is to us. So I've really enjoyed these boards because I can share my excitement and happiness with people who understand how much this means to me!

I couldn't agree with you more! These boards have become my sound board, both for questions and excitement!

Michele you know you can lean on all of us BMs, because we all love you!

My sister is my MOH and up until recently when I called her out on all of her BS was she a nightmare. She is barely involved because she is so self- absorbed so I can relate. FH & I are doing this wedding ourselves just the way we like it!

My two best friends are my MOH's, there was no way I could decide between the two. One is always on top of things, and the other one is flighty, sometimes won't answer her text/voice messages for days. I guess for me it will even out. The non-flighty one already said she would pick up the slack for the flighty MOH. Although last night flighty MOH told me she ordered a book on how to be the perfect MOH.

These boards really are amazing! There's such an atmosphere of support and care flowing through the boards. Such a great community to be a part of.

Yeaaa, the plight of the MOH/BM position. A lot of people I know end up putting their sister or brother. I have no brother and most of my groomsmen will be finishing school or studying for boards at the time. So I'm in a similar dilemma and would really not like to orchestrate the whole wedding myself. I probably can't appoint one man to take all the responsibilities of being my support beam, so spread the wealth I shall.

I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't encountered any problems yet. My MOH (sister) and I are very close. She is away at school (but is graduating in May ) so she hasn't been around much, which I totally understand, but I know once she comes home she will be!!

My sister is my MOH and I was the most AMAZING MOH for hers-I planned the entire wedding and did everything for her (guests at the wedding even came up to me and said good job lol) and now she's very preggo and very into the pregnancy and then she'll be very into being a mom (which is great bc I'm so excited to be an aunt) but she won't be helping me at all. She's excited for me but I could tell she just so not intersted.
And I agree, your MOH should be your shoulder to lean on and your second hand but it doesn't always seem to work that way

So sorry to hear you're dealing with this! My sister is kinda young and hasn't even been in a BP. I'm pretty sure she just doesn't know what to do. Once te ball starts rolling with dresses and planning m shower,
I think she'll feel more comfortable!

so sorry to hear that! if she's not a sister or relative why don't you consider changing your MOH? I have two best friends and I would love for one to be my MOH because she is more of my friend that I turned into an adult with but my childhood friend is more responsible for the role and wants it more and you want a happy MOH! the girls are right and it should be someone who is more than happy to have things your way instead of theirs.
