I am planning on choosing the dresses I love for my BMs at the same place where I am purchasing my gown. The problem is they refuse to give me a swatch of the color of the bm dresses to show my florist. They said when the bm dresses come in which will be in six months, they will then be able to take a piece of fabric from inside the dress. I am upset because I do not want to wait 6 months thats if they even give the piece of material to me. I really want to fianlize the colors w/ my florist very soon. I just needed share this w/ everyone.

I'm sorry they won't give you a swatch. Did you ask them to request a swatch from the manufacturer?

My advice would be to NOT just go with a shop that promises the swatch. My shop promised me the swatch and NEVER gave it to me. My girls each went to their own seamstress for alterations and gave me all of their leftover fabric (which we then used on the bouquets)

who is the bm dress by some companies will send you swatches like dessy, after six. i know that i think you may have to buy them but your bridal shop can simply order you a swatch. this has been done for many of my friends before me who have gotten married already. Good luck

no, I havn't but that is a good question thanks The designer is Jordan so maybe I'll try to get in contact with them somehow to ask them for a swatch.

If they can't/won't, maybe you can get a swatch from the manufacturer yourself. Most manufacturers will send or sell you a swatch. Luckily, you have plenty of time.

What is the rush ? you'll have plenty of time to 'finalize' your flowers ! The wedding is in 9/05 right ?? I think you're way ahead of the game !! Call the manufacturer and see if they'll send you something. - Otherwise, any good florist does not 'need' a swatch, you can tell them 'oh my dresses are a greenish color' and they'll know what's going to look good ! Don't stress !

part of the reasoning is that once your order gets placed, the dye lots can differ in shades of that color. This is why they want the dresses ordered at the same time. I had the same problem.

I asked the manufacturer after my shop said no...they manufacturer had no problem with this!!!!

I don't know why, but I am feeling rushed about everything. Everytime I finish something or book a vendor I feel relieved, so I just want to get everything done. The florist I am gong with is Pedestals they said that when I have the BM color to let them know they said a swatch would be a good idea, but I guess maybe then I don't NEED one. They can get an idea from just knowing the color. Thanks everyone for your suggestions
