Hi.I feel like I am always posting about some tacky element of my social life. However I felt like I had to tell you guys this.
A coworker of FH- a lovely woman. We went to her wedding last year and it was so elegant and beautiful!!!
Well we get an invitation from her- she is having a GTG at her home- she is cooking some scrumptious food, etc etc. I was so excited because I know she throws great events. Well I look at the bottom and it says donation of $30. I was appalled . Even worse it said Cash Bar available.
FH wants to go. I am outraged. How do you charge ppl to come into your home?
I spoke to her yesterday, but did not have the nerve to question her about it.
Ladies I am not kidding, this is completely true.
Who does this??????

what is the donation for?? I hope not her! and cancer care or something?? I wouldnt go personally is someone asked for 30 and invited me to their home

WOW, there is a first for everything...I have never heard of that. IMO, if you are hosting a party then you pay...you dont ask for money.

That is the most outrageous thing I have ever heard in my life! There is NO WAY I would go, personally...you don't charge ADMISSION to your home!

I asked FH what the donation is for and he as usual is clueless.I just cannot believe the sheer and utter nerve.

I was going to ask the same thing Tammy...Is it for something or to pay for the food and beverage she would be providing?? I think that is tacky if it's not for a good cause. I don't think I would go. JMO

I have never heard of such a thing. I wouldn't go if I were you. I think it's rude to charge people to come to a party in your home.

If YOU have a party then YOU should pay for the food. It's not like she was ASKED to have a party.....I would be outraged too and would definitely NOT GO!

Ok I can see this if she is doing this as a fundraiser for some charity and will donate all the money from your donation and bar sales - BUT IF THAT IS NOT THE CASE - than can we say - tacky, tacky, tacky
