I am a failure- Updated w/doctor info

That's right- I failed my freakin 3 hour test I have to go see a diabete nutritionist tomorrow at Noon so she can explain all the You Can't Eat stuff to me which basically means 'Michele you will starve since everything you like you can't have' I am totally moody today and DONE. I am NOT happy camper.

So, I went to the diabete doctor. I have to monitor (aka prick my finger) 4X a day and follow a pretty strict diet plan. I call in my 'numbers' on Friday and Monday and then she will make a decision if I need insilin or not. Of course, she said it could change in the weeks to come but she will make an intial assessment on Monday. And then I go to see them every 3 weeks. No ice cream for 12 weeks, no cookies, no dessert at all
I cannot wait to tell my child 'You can take out the garbage since I had to go thru sooo much to have you'

Sorry Michele One of my friends had GD and said she actually felt better and more energized following the recommended diet.

Re: I am a failure

C'mon, cheer up... as Stacey can tell you, it's not so bad. In order to get pregnant I had to follow a very similiar eating plan, and I lived. You will too!

Just remember, it's ALLLL for the baby ~ a VERY good cause!

Re: I am a failure

HEY - this annoying diabetes thing seems to run in the liwedding family!

HOW ANNOYING! You've been thru the mill Michele...all the cramping, sciatica...now this...I can imagine your frustration.

Okay silver lining time. The stuff they are going to rudely and insensitively DEPRIVE you of ( ) will be a handful of things you won't have to give up on your own after your itty bitty arrives! You will have already dealt with cookie and candy withdrawal...you'll be body beautiful in NO time!

So...that said...you guessed it...PROJECT AHEAD! Let's pick Christmas, when your little / is dressed in the perfect 1st Christmas outfit that you finally found, and you are 25 pounds less in some great velvet number, EASILY passing on the raspberry thumbprint cookies saying 'no thanks...one was plenty for me...I really just don't want cookies anymore....'

Hope that little story perks you up! And hey - you have company on this board in Stacey and Lord knows how many more of us will be failures as well!

just one more thing you need to do....I know I know it seems like it never ends....

Re: I am a failure

Jenny- my favorite are the rasberry thumb print cookies How did you know that?

And now I guess my Annual Cookie Swap Party might not happen. I am NOT a good diet person- hence my thighs and butt.

Well we will see what they say at the meeting. I had cereal this morning though I mean, no one has told me not to yet

I have no advice just wanted to offer

Re: I am a failure

Michele, you could still have your Cookie Party - you should just schedule it for AFTER the baby is born No worries...you CAN do this...you just REALLY have to change your perspective on it....rather than thinking 'I Can't have THis or That' you need to say, 'I am CHOOSING these foods b/c it is healthy for me and my baby.'

And look at the bright side....now you are forced to follow a certain diet, so you don't have to stress so much about preggo weight gain anymore. You will be doing everything you can to maintain your health! I am here to support you every step of the way...if I can follow a strict diet in order to be healthier for my Baby #2, than you can do this for your bundle of joy!
