Tomorrow night I am going to the hospital for a sleep apnea test. I have to be dropped off at 9pm and they hook me up to a ton of monitirs than I have to sleep there while they record the activity of my heart, brain, etc. I have to be picked up at 6am when the test is over.
My mom was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few years ago and my grandmother and great grandmother both died in their sleep (they were both over 70) but the dr. thought it would be a good idea for me to be tested b/c of the family history and I am always tired, snore, and wake up w/ headaches sometimes.
I hate the hospital soooo much and now I have anxiety about it.

No its not weird! I have these episodes where I get stuck in my sleep (my mind is awake but I cant move) Its terrifying. Sometimes I have to sleep holding FH's arm in case it happens sometimes I can tap him with my finger to wake me up. But Ive always wanted to have a test done to see why that happens!!!!

I think that actually has to do with REM sleep patterns or something like that. I'm not certain. i get that when I am very overtired. I read something like its when your brain wakes up before your body so it doesn't know to move- it's strange.

my dad has sleep apnia and he was nervous too but he said it wasnt as bad as he thought. it was just hard to fall asleep knowing people were watching him ( and he snores really loud) i am sure it will be ok!! let us know how it goes

Jess, relax! FH has sleep apnea, and he sleeps with that breathing machine. If you have sleep apnea, and you do get the machine, you will sleep SO MUCH BETTER! That's all I hear from FH and his mom, who just got the machine.
Just make sure that you actually SLEEP! And, good luck!!!

My friend did that like a few months ago and he was so angry in the morning b/c the nurses woke you up like every 10 minutes and then she forgot to do something important and he had to take the test all over again...he was so p*ssed he cursed her out...lol
