I have 2 bosses - one is great, the other is awful. Total micromanager. I think she has a chip on her shoulder that I have a masters and she doesn't. This is a temporary thing anyway (2 mo in on a 6mo contract) - FH and I are relocating to DC ASAP. Great boss is transitioning and my projects with that one are dwindling and new projects with the other one are starting. Awful boss is on my a.ss again and I am about ready to tell her to shove it and walk out. I don't commute 3.5hrs a day for her crap.
Ugh. Tell me why I shouldn't just walk out right now.

Trust me, I've been there, although it was 2 jobs and 4 years ago. I would stay so that you don't have to worry about money. Better to have a job then not I think. Also, you don't want to burn bridges, you never know. Just keep cursing her out behind her back and under your breath, it helps! Goodluck!

I think you need to go pretend like you are going to the ladies room and go for a little walk to cool off. Sometimes you need to do this so you don't snap. The day's almost over.Hang in there.

The worst part is that I posted this over an hour after our last run-in. You should have seen me then.

problem is mantra isn't working all that well
I wanna go home and take my dog for a walk in the park
FH just called and he is having a tough time with his boss too...but on the bright side I have an interview on Tuesday....if I can make it until then without freaking out.

Hey Alison!
No, nothing lined up as of yet, but I have a few interviews for DC area jobs. Working with some local headhunters which helps. Hoping to get down there by July if not sooner. FH is starting grad school in the fall and the commute from NYC was too much! Plus we both hate NY and love DC, so off we go (soon!)
I can't wait to meet all of the DC LIW girls!!

I feel your pain, I am in the same boat except I report to the fuc-wit only. Its enough to make me crazy, esp since I quit smoking so I cannot escape downstairs. I am stuck here until at least September when our house will be done and we are moving- I keep myself sane by reminding myself how screwed I would be without my job, and how much smarter I am than him. Plus, he is losing his hair, so everytime he rants and goes off, I just cheer myself up by focusing on his receeding hairline
