I am about to cry

I am about to cry

So a couple of weeks ago I purchased my head piece from Barron's at tri -county. I left it in the box until it was time form hair trail. When my hair dresser went to take it out to put it on my head it was broken.

I just tried to bring it back to Barron's and the guy who works there. I guess Mr, Barron. Told me there was nothing he could do for me. The head piece is in two pieces and there is no way I can wear it in my head and he tells me I am out of luck. No only does he tell me out of luck but he's laughing at me as I tell him what happen to it. I asked him to give the company's name he said he could do that. He told me someone broke it on me. Who would break it on me?

SO needless to say I left Tri-county very upset and a broken head piece. I spent over a $100 on it and now I cant even use it I don't know what to do.

Be careful brides who plan on using them.

I don't understand what happened? I mean, did you not even look at it when you bought it? I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have sold you a headpiece that was broken in half?

I feel for you but it sounds very strange...

I know it sounds strange. It was shown to me in one piece and it was placed in the box and I didn't take it out until I had my hair trail and my hair dresser informed me it was broken.

But if it was in one piece when you bought it and he clearly didn't snap it in half and then put it in the box, wouldn't you assume that it broke sometime between the store and the hair trial while it was in your possession? In which case, why would he replace it?

He should replace it because it's his job to keep his customers happy.

Buy something from Target, bring it home, open it, see it's broken, bring it back. That's how retail works.

So sorry that stinks! Did you see your hairdresser take it out of the box? I'm thinking maybe she broke it by accident when she took it out. Like tried to see how flexible it was and oops now it's in two pieces. Regardless of how it broke or when the Barron's guy really shouldn't be laughing at you. Hope everything works out for you!

Well the head piece is very flexible. its one of those that molds to your head and you tie it on with a ribbon. So its suppose to bend. I didn't she her when she took it out and yes I agree he shouldn't have been laughing at me

I've been in retail for 12 years, and am a GM of a retail store. That may be how it works with some megalo-corporations like Target, but certainly not with flea market stores, or many independent retail stores. Also what you stated above 'Buy something from Target, bring it home, open it, see it's broken, bring it back' is not exactly what you did. You brought it home, DIDN'T look to see if it was broken, put it away, and then weeks later realized it was broken, then tried to return it. That's not the same at all. If you had checked it when you got home from Barron's and immediately realized it was broken and gone right back, they may have done something for you. However, there's still no way for them to know you didn't break it. I'm sorry your headpiece is broken, but it sounds like it broke in your possession unfortunately which is not their problem to fix. Good luck

Just wanted to add that the guy at Barron's can be super rude and he should not be laughing at you or any other customer. He needs some help with his customer service, I can attest to that.

If you didnt check it when you left tricounty , then I dont see how its Barron's fault. You can't say for certain where the damage occured.

Correct I can say fer certain when it happened, but he could at least give me the manufactures name and number so that I can deal with them. Since the piece should last longer then 1 try on,

That's kind of what I was trying to say. I bought my 2nd headpiece at Barron's and after I said I wanted the one that I purchased they put it in a ziplock bag and into the box. It wasn't as if there's some back room for them to go into and slip you a broken one, it's a stand. I believe they make all of their pieces but I could be completely wrong so maybe there isn't a number for a manufacturer.

He might make the veils but he does not make the head bands and tiara's. He buys those from some company. I am not saying that he broke it, but so how it broke and it wasn't by me or other members of my bridal party like he i suggesting.

It's a drag, I know -- but is it possible you stored your box somewhere where it could have fallen or gotten smushed, like your car or in your closet? In which case, no, Barron's wouldn't be liable to issue you a replacement or refund. I bought my headpiece at Barron's months before my wedding and it was fine the day of.

What I WILL say is completely cliche and 100% true: you pay for what you get.

My headpiece completely fell apart after the wedding. Granted, I'd accidentally packed it on the honeymoon and it was in my toiletry bag, but when I pulled it out some of the beading had fallen off and it was bent. I still have it as a memento, but there's no way I could lend it to someone. i only payed $115 for it; if I'd shelled out the $400 for the Denise Leli I'd originally liked and THAT one broke, I would have gone ape$hit.

That guy is totally rude. I dealt with him as well. I have both a headband (see my pro pics) and one of those pretty combs from there. My wedding is over and I wouldn't mind lending it out. If you think you would be interested let me know, I can't sell it cause my sister would like to wear it, but I can totally lend it out :)
