I AM ABSOLUTELY FED UP WITH FH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FH is a cop and (I have posted about this before) we just started living together in December. Well, this morning I woke up to find his stupid GUN laying out on our COUCH!!! We have had this discussion 5 BILLION times and he always says he won't do it again. I am PETRIFIED of these freaking things and really want NOTHING to do with them. I told him last time that the next time he does this I am just getting rid of it and he'll have to buy a new one (they are $$$$$$) so that maybe he'll take it more seriously, but since he has to work tonight I can't do that bc he'll get canned. I really am fuming over this because he knows how I feel and why I feel the way I do about guns and it's like he doesn't even care. If something bothered him like that, I would NEVER forget about it and i'd be sure to never make him feel uncomfortable. I'm thisclose to calling his mother and having her rip it into him (she can be very good at this stuff) so that he'll listen but it pisses me off that he won't listen to ME about it. I just ripped him out of bed (he got home 2 hours ago) to put it away and all he said was 'oh sh***'. I really can't stand this anymore. What is he going to be like when we have kids??? All it takes is ONE time!!!!!! He has a safe and everything, why can't he use it?!?!?

i just want to say that you should NOT take it into your own hands to get rid of his gun. His gun regsitered in the FBI database and is recorded at the precinct. plus the serial number is recorded on the gun indicating that it is your FH's gun. he needs it for work and if you 'got rid of it' and someone found it and commited a crime with it, the gun will trace back to your FH's name.

i don't think you should be typing out things like this on a public board what FH does with his gun (especially if he is a cop).

best of luck. don't mean to sound like a b*tch but I just want to warn you so neither you or FH get hurt.

just talk to him about it and purchase a lock box. hopefully that will help

I'm not sure if you've tried this already but why don't you keep the safe where he gets undressed when he comes home from work? That way it'll be RIGHT there reminding him what to do. You really have to do something because its NOT safe at ALL!
