I am at a standstill!

I have been on a Weight Watchers for a few months now, and this morning I gained a pound, I am so depressed the scale has not moved in 2 weeks and now this!!! I am trying to lose 30 pounds for the wedding, even though it is a while off( early 2004 ) I want to be able to have off the weight by then and be maintaining it!!!! HELP!!! Some words of encouragement would be helpful, did anyone else go through this??

I feel your pain!

Except I am trying to shed a few pounds by next month because I am gong on a cruise. Never gonna happen.

I have reached that place where exercise is a must. I hate that place! I love to be active, but I just can't bear that thought of getting up before six or working out at 8pm when I like to relax with FH and watch tv

Maybe we should all start one of Rosie O'Donnells CHUB CLUBS and work on this together. I totally need more inspiration!

I had the same problem and a nuturionist told me, start a new journal of your food intake. List EVERYTHING!!! you consume for a week. She said alot of times you dont realize, sometimes you go over by a 1/4 cup or a little xtra sugar...etc Double check to make sure you are measuring right and see how it goes. That worked for me. Good luck

being at a standstill is a good thing! You are really getting used to eating right, and your body is appreciating it by plateauing every now and again. Don't lose faith! Weight Watchers works - I would add in a bit of excercise for a jump start - or drink an extra bottle of water. Good luck!

Re: I am at a standstill!

I've been on weight watchers too since February and I've lost 21.5 pounds but I did have several weeks where I lost nothing and one week when I gained. But you have to keep with it. If you have been losing celebrate that rather than wallowing in your sorrow of a gain.

It's a slow process. I wish I had done this before my wedding -- but I guess I really wasn't ready because now I'm having success -- and you are too -- so just keep at it and really learn to love your body more and more.

If you journal take a look back at your last few weeks and compare them with ones in which you did lose -- maybe you're eating more or eating more of snacks, etc. even if you are staying in points. And I can't say enough about how important the water is.

Keep it up

Susan...

Don't be discouraged.... one pound is nothing in the scheme of things. Think of how much you have already lost!! I have lost about 40 pounds since last January, but had been up to having lost about 50 pounds... it's all about how you feel don't forget!! I feel great that I have lost 40 pounds, not annoyed that I haven't lost anything in the last few months!! I keep trying & eventually it will happen, so just keep at it!! Val

Re: Steph28

NuBride: I started WW Feb. 02.

If anyone is interested I started a group page for Newlywed Weight Watchers but I'd love to have some Brides-To-Be on there as well. Us old married ladies can help out with WW advice/support and wedding planning help.

If you are interested please email me at [email protected]

Keep up the faith!

you should be keeping a journal...this happened to me when I lost about 20# on WW...

you may be eating too many carbs...look to make sure things are balanced...it can get frustrating, but one week it will all come off...TRUST ME!!!

Re: I am at a standstill!

I work for WW and have been a member for over a year. To hit a plateau every now and then is not uncommon, try not to get discouraged. Here are some things to look at that may slow you down:
Are you keeping the journal? Someone else wrote this too - if you don't write it it can be very easy to eat things and forget the points. Are you exercising? If so, are you using the extra points you are entitled to? You need fuel to burn fuel. Are you going below your points? This will slow you down- if you don't eat enough your body thinks it is starving and will hang on to every calorie. And are you drinking the water? It really does help, and you will feel better if you stay hydrated.
All of these are common things that sometimes slow weight loss down a little. Don't be discouraged. Stick with it and the weight will come off.
