I am back from my wedding planning weekend!!

I am back from my wedding weekend trip up to Long Island. On friday when I came in we went to Serafina to pick the girls dresses. We did decided to go with the plaid full a-line skirt with a (very small) sweeping train. I let the girls pick out the cut of the top they would like since it was seperates. I thought this would be easy but it was harder than anticipated. On Saturday we woke up and started our day out early going to Enchante in Smithtown for a hair and make-up trial (I also treated the girls to a pedicure so they would not be too bored.) I met Kristen for the first time and described to her (in not very good detail) what I would like to look like on my wedding day. On her first try of my hair she did exactly what I wanted...then we were off for makeup and I have to say...I can't remember the last time I looked in the mirror and said 'Damn I look good!' but she made me look very beautiful. I did not go to bed until passed midnight and my makeup stayed through the whole day (it was put on at 1030am) I booked Kristen on the spot for myself and my bridesmaids. Our next stop was my ceremony and reception location. My god! I forgot how much I love that place! It was my sisters first time seeing Flowerfield and she was just floored and fell in love with it right then and there. I had lots of questions to ask and they answered each and everyone of them. After Flowerfield we were off to meet with Burton and Sons to pick the flowers out. You guys might not believe me when I tell you what I am about to tell you but I swear it is all true! I went in there told him what I wanted, showed him a swatch of the girls dresses. He then opened his photo book and showed me bouqets and centerpieces exactly as I described...THEY WERE PERFECT! I was out of there...and this is the unbelieveable part...I was out of there in 15 minutes!!!! completly happy and satisfied! Then we had a very nice lunch together and headed off to my aunts house. We picked up my aunt and my little cousin to go flowergirl dress shopping. We went to a store that was five minutes away from her house and had one picked out in 10 minutes. I can't believe what a successful and productive weekend I had. Trust me ladies doing your research and coming to this site can save you tons of time in leg work. Thanks all for reading. I am just so happy I had to share.

Debbie, I wished I could have met you this weekend but I'll wait for Aruba when we are MARRIED!!
Congrats on such a highly productive weekend! Did you take pics of your hair & makeup trial?

I stink because I didn't. As I was two seconds into scrubbing my face I was like 'Crap!!!' and of course it was too late. Normally I stay out of the Enchante Conversations but I was truely amazed on this one!

Debbie, so glad your weekend was productive

I LOVE a productive weekend, it feels so good !!!!

Darn, I wish you had pics of the trial, but I guess we will wait till the big day, LOL !!!!!!!

Sorry about not getting pictures. Imight be back up and get a trial with Jade for airbrushing ( jsut to see if I like the feel of one over the other.) If I do, I promise I will take pictures!

That is great. One word: make sure you get extra hair pins from Kristen the day of the wedding and tell her to use a heavy-duty spray on your hair. She did Cindy's and it fell out during the ceremony.
But she is very talented.
