Okay ladies, I just got back from Flowers & Designs by Gina. I have all the pics posted in my album, but I have posted below just a few of the samples I saw.
At first, I wasn't 100% happy with the some of the colors, they looked tooo fall, not early summer. But she was willing to work with me for at least 1 hour or so, making quick samples so I could see the colors, the flowers, etc.
I have to say that she even gave me the centerpiece sample and the bouquet sample so I could mow over the colors etc. She gave me the samples without me having to book with her. She was a total sweetheart.
ETA: pics won't load too big; check out my floral samples album.

Don't feel guilty. You have to do what is best for your wallet and your wedding. Maybe you could send her a little thank you for her time or just call and let her know that you guys are leaning in a different direction but that you appreciated her work.

You know I will definitely do that. She spent a good hour and a half with me and my MOH. She even made MOH a bouquet of her favorite color. Thanks!!

Were you happy after she redid the flowers? If so, maybe you can explain that you would like to stay, but that the other company is taing off $300. She may match the price.

listen, if you feel more comfortable with gina's work i would tell her your situation and the lower quote you got from pedastals she might match it!! if you really wanted pedastals than dont feel guilty thats the nature of competition you have to wow your customers and some come back and others dont, but if she calls you can thank her for spending so much time with you etc
Re: I am back from the florist and now I feel sooo guilty...
I hate when they are so nice but you have to go with someone else. I would ask here if she could match that price from pedestals. They seem like they really care for their clients needs. If not then just let them know kindly that its strictly a budget things and you wish you could afford but that pedestals works out better for you...

Try not to feel guilty...maybe if she knows you're going to book with Pedestals b/c they are cheaper, she would be williing to negogiate the price?

You know this is why I love all you girls. Always there to give support. You are so right that this is the nature of the game. I am such a softie, and sometimes that takes over and clouds my judgment. Thanks!!!

My MOH and I went over all the stuff I was getting from both vendors. I even took her to Pedestals to see an example of their work.
I was willing to overlook the free stuff they were giving me, if Gina came in cheaper. But since she came in a bit more than Pedestal's original quote, and now that Pedestals has lowered their original quote, all those freebies are now a bit more significant.
Gina will charge me for candles ($1 each) and I will get no flowers for my dais, just using our bouquets. Pedestals is giving me a waterfall arrangement for the dais and all the candles are included. So even if she did match it, she still would not be giving me everything that Pedestals is giving me.

use it as a negotiating tool if you want. But don't feel guity, just be upfront with her and tell her why you chose another company.

I think as long as you really like what you're getting from Pedestals, then it's fine to go with them. Maybe send her a thank you note or something to say thank you for your time, but that's it. I'm sure you're not the first bride who didn't book with her.

janice, you honestly need to do what feels right to you.
i actually booked my florist who came in a little more expensive than another....but i'm 100% comfortable with her and she knows what we want. plus i negotiated an asked her if she would throw in some of the stuff another said he would.
if you are more comfortable with Pedestals and like their package better, than by all means go for them!

I wouldnt stress about it. It's business and they have to understand. Did you tell her another forist gave you a better price? Maybe she will negotiate.
