for real.

I need to get new goggles for skiing, and now that I am BLIND, I need 'over the glass (OTG)' goggles...they are soo effing expensive!

So you are planning on actually skiing? My favorite part of skiing is the hot chocolate laced with a little fire.

I missed why you are blind, but why don't you get contacts? DH was anti-contact and I finally dragged him to my eye doctor and now he loves them.

I agree with Suz - I'd go the contact lenses route instead of the goggles route - I mean how many times (realistically) will you wear those goggles?

Dude,
Get contacts. Even if you don't rock them all of the time, get them. I had SUPER sensitive eyes as a kid (still do) and I didn't think I could ever wear them. My Dr played a joke on me and turned all the lights off in the room, told me he had to do a check up. Right before he turned on the lights he told me to close my eyes. When I opened them I began to cry.

I never had seen so perfectly in my life. He put them in and I didn't even notice!!!!! Get them!!!

yeah, I am all about my contacts.

Re: I am boo-hooing.

gee, geniuses...I NEVER thought of that (four-eyes rolling)

I can't wear contacts. my vision is impaired b/c of a nasty battle with a virus, which left scarred ridges near my corneas...contacts would only lay flat on top of the ridges, and therefore do nothing to help my vision.

AND, I am leaving Friday...so even if I could...contacts would be OUT anyway.

Ummm- I used to wear my goggles over my crap pair of glasses. They weren't cool goggles, though- they were old, big smiths.

Is that dangerous? Like if you fell on your face wouldn't you chance the glasses breaking on your face?

Clearly, I don't ski.

ETA- probably.
But you don't just fall down skiing- if you hit your face- your goggles get ripped off, along with your glasses (I'm sure, in theory- never happened to me, I am amazing at everything).
We like ot make fun of skiiers when they wipe out like that, and lose their skiis and poles. And their stupis hat with the purple dread locks.
Yard sale.

That is me. Thus why skiing is evil. I also skidded on my face for a while, then I was asked to leave the mountain. Something about being a danger to the other skiiers.

seriously - if they were planning to de-suzify they should have just closed the mountain.

I went outlet shopping after the ejection. So it was a happy day after all.

Never been skiing, don't ever plan to, no interest. I'd spend all day in the lodge in front of the fireplace drinking hot cocoa.

And I can just do that at home for free.
