I am doing labels for addresses for my invitations
Original post by gabbie83
is this really bad? I really dont have extra envelopes and i dont want to risk them getting jammed in the printer... and im not spending $300 extra to send them off to a caligrapher (sp?) Can someone tell me its ok?
Is it better to handwrite them? I have nice handwriting...

if you can -- use a laser printer instead of an inkjet - it will be much better

I would love to do clear labels but they take sooo long to dry and get smudged very easily
I did clear labels in nice font for the eparty invites & they didn't smudge. Just wait like a min or 2 before you put them on the envelopes. they looked good to me. Not sure what I'm doing for the wedding yet.

LnF, thank you so much for posting that website! I am DEF going to use them! Can't beat 19 cents per envelope... and it looks beautiful. I was ready to pay $1/per.

I think with labels you risk people thinking it's some sort of bill or spam so I am not a fan. I don't think you need to spend money on hand calligraphy but I do believe in addressing the envelopes by hand, preferably your own or your future husband's.
