My aunt and uncle just left - they came here for three weeks from Sicily.
Seriously, they lied to us. They didnt want to come to America, they wanted to bring Sicily here and maybe see a few American things.
We had to eat at exactly 1PM and 9PM even if that meant we couldnt see certain things bc we HAD to be back in time.
We ONLY ate italian food, love love love it of course but I made them try 'American' breakfast food and they were like 'we dont eat this at home' NO KIDDING that is why i am asking you to try it?
they are SO judgemental - i mean seriously, my mom worked so hard to clean our already spotless house and they actually said in the kids' room 'omg you have to have a place for all these toys human beings cant live like this' bc the kids had their own 'corner' of the TV room!
we would plan all these things for them but then the moment it interfered with the sacred food hour. . . forget it.
i mean, my aunt was awesome she cooked and cleaned and stuff but really it was my uncle. and i couldnt keep my mouth shut and i think he was really surprised that a woman spoke up that much
but seriously, when i go there i eat WHEN they eat and WHAT they eat and I enjoy it and i go with the flow. . . even if it means i am eating dinner and almost falling asleep in my plate!
anyway, i still cried when they left and i will miss them but three weeks with house guests is just . . . insane!!!
oh yeah and also adding that TODAY jsut when i was sad that he was leaving he connected:
terrorism
eating more than three times a day
AND
giant soft drinks
in a 45 minute argument with my poor mom that is just clueless.
