I am going to cry...

I stopped in the little store on the 1st floor of my office to get a cup of coffee, which I frequently do.

They guy who runs the shop was pouring my coffee and looked at me and said, 'OH, you're having a baby?!' His English isn't too good, but that's definitely what he said!

So, I just said, 'Ummmmmm.....nooooooo'

And, then I left. So, I am all upset over here. I have put on some weight since the wedding and I have noticed that I am carrying a few more pounds and my belly area isn't flat like it used to be, but not enough for a stranger to comment that I look pregnant...

Don't let that cretin bother you - some people just do not know how to think before they blurt out something stupid and offensive. This same thing happened to my sister when she was at dinner with her DH one night. They were waiting to be seated and my sis was rubbing her belly bc she was hungry - and the twit hostess looks at her and goes 'Oh when are you due?' My sis was very un-pregnant at the time, but had put on a few pounds, and she was so insulted by that comment that she complained to the manager and they got their dinner for free!

Don't let it get you down sweetie - you are beautiful!!!!!! It's not your fault that some people are just too stupid to think before they open thir mouths!!!

Not to defend the guy, but maybe he confused you with somebody else who is pregnant or maybe somebody said you were.

I had a security guard ask me if I had just had a baby (a few years ago) and when I said no, she asked what company I worked for (within the building) and realized I was the wrong person.

Don't let it both you. Your probably just wearing a coat that is loose or something. I once had a guy offer me his seat on the subway because I was wearing a winter coat that was flared at the bottom & he thought I was pregnant! You probably look fine!

He was just being stupid. I'm SURE you don't look PG. Sometimes people have weird expectations for what people should look like and will use any chance to insult them. My ister works at a hospital and she has ut on weight and people who know DAMN WELL that she isn't pg (and she doens't look pg, altough she ahs gained weight) are like 'OH, are you pg?' it's really f'ed up. When I went to meet FH's family in FL for the first time, all they reported back to FH's parents was how FAT we both were, and how we both ate SO much and all we ate was junk food. Ok. First of all, I never finished a single dinner, secondly, thet took us out to dinner to crappy places. Random buffet places and greasy spoons joints. ALL I could eat was junk food. I really wanted to kill FH's grandfather, I don't care that he's 88 years old. It's a good thing I was in NY by then and calmed by a week at Disney World.

oh, Sue, i'm sorry some people just have NO sense of what is appropriate and whats not.

A co-worker of mine commented to me about a month ago, ' Wow Jen you have a big butt, but in a good way like J-LO'. I was like THANKS but NO THANKS - to me that was not a compliment!

I am so sorry. My friend's mom did that to me in June (before I was pregnant0. It ruined my entire day! Sometimes people just have no clue!!

Don't let it bug you. When I had my work bridal shower, one lady thought it was a baby shower, and got me a bib - now I'm not a stick figure, but I'm also not heavy & know I don't look pregnant. So you see, people can be a little out of it sometimes!
