He invited my father to my FH's bachelor party. I can't belive him. I left him a message that he better univite him. I told him that he should invite my father to dinner with my FH's dad and all the guys before they go out and do the stripper thing. So what does he do, he invites him for the evening. I am going to kill him. My father is very old fashioned and the last thing I want is for him to be there with FH drunk and going ga ga over strippers!! He'll hate my FH by the time the wedding comes around!!

first of all women have bachlorette parties men have bacholor parties. And thats fine as far as my FI is concerned the day we bacame a family he was no longer a bacholor. its a stupid old tradition that is disgusting in a lot of peoples eyes.

I am glad it all worked out for you. Plus I am sure your dad was relieved. I know my dad would be - a night out trying to keep up with FI & friends would be rough!

Look - everyone is entitled to their opinions - but there are ways to express your opinions that aren't offensive to other people.
I know you are pretty new to the boards - but that's how it is done on here - we are all here to support each other and help each other - not to be offensive towards others.

I personally don't like strippers either, but that isn't the point. She was talking about how awkward it would be to have her father there!

I'm glad everything worked out (that your father isn't going). If I was in your FH's shoes I would feel really uncomfortable with my FFIL there and wouldn't have fun! Imagine if your father was the one going gaga over the strippers!!!

Like all of us are trying to say to you..you are entitled to an opinion but there is a way to going about it... Every couple has to decide what is right for them. Together they should come up with limitations for what they find to be acceptable or not.

I don't think that looking at naked women is disrepectful. In fact, I am offended to think that YOU would. Women are gorgeous! There is nothing wrong with nudity...only prudishness in my opinion.

Wow, that was awesome!!
I could care what my FI does at his bachelor party...in Vegas, I might add, this weekend...they are definitely going to strip clubs and you should only see the email his best man sent out. It would send some of you (soon2b) into a tizzy, it certainly did to some of the GM's wives. My opinion is, it's just guys, having a good time where they are on their own, the women are eye candy and that's all they are. I think it lets the boys go back to basic's so to speak and you know what, I trust my man and am soooo not worried about what he is or isn't looking at. When it comes right down to it, he comes home to his wife or girlfriend and not the girl in the strip club.
But good luck to all you ladies who honestly beleive that their man doesn't like and/or beleive in strip clubs, cuz that is so not the truth.

No opinion here ... just a statement ...

This goes without saying .. but I think every couple , and every man, is vastly different ... as long as there is respect and trust, who am I to judge?

Each couple knows the depths of their relationship and knows their mate better than any outsider can speak for ... and whatever boundaries a couple chooses to set, far be it for anyone else to tell them they are wrong. Ultimately, no two relationships are alike...

OK I am off my soapbox now .. lol
