My ffil get them but his get so big he has to have them zapped. He goes in and they shoot them with lasers to break them up so they are small enough to pass. i don't know what doc he sees but if you can't find one I will call him and ask. hope you feel better.

I know someone who had the laser thing done, and it really worked out well for her...

I'm so sorry your in so much pain!!!! At least it is not something dangerous....

Oh chica!!!!

I hate seeing patients suffering from kidney stones! Just today I saw the nicest 68 yo albanian man that was in so much pain!!! I feel for ya!

I hope they're small enough to pass on their own and if that doesn't happen, I hope they're small enough to be broken down by lithotripsy!

Well girls, I haven't been on in a few dys. I spent the whole day in the ER yesterday b/c of severe abdominal pain...I have KIDNEY STONES I have to see a Urologist today. I have never had this before...Can anyone recommend some advice or a doctor in eastern LI..Please.. Thanks for listening

are you serious??? I was in the ER Thursday night because I too have a kidney stone!!!! I thought I was dying.... OMG it is sooooo painful. I am going to see my doctor 2morrow and a urologist on Sunday. I TOTALLY know how you feel

Ooohhh.....

I had kidney stones last August. It feels like someone is tracing your Kidney with a knife from the inside.

I was in the hospital for two days just b/c they wanted to monitor it. But basically they gave me lots of motrin (very effective on stones surprisingly) and I drank a TON of water. I was drinking a half gallon every hour along with the IV in my arm.

Fortunately for me, I was able to pass it without the laser. My advice for you....

1-Rest (moving around is not an option)
2-Pain meds (really really work right now)
3-Lots of water (help your body try to move things along naturally)
4-If the pain gets worse, go straight to the ER, stones can get caught and it becomes unbearable.

F.Y.I.- also go back to the ER if you begin vomiting. I'm not sure why but the doctor stressed it to me a million times when I was dischatged.
