I just can't believe that I am back to square one with our HM. (see my other post)
I can't stop crying- and I may be acting dramatically, but I just can't believe that my fil's would do this to us.
I feel sick to my stomach about this whole thing. And my fmil is crying becuase she feels bad and FH feels bad that she's crying... what did they expect by going to our TA and going to the same region? UGH! i just hate this effing drama.

well dont be down! picking the honeymoon should be the best part.
try to sit down and right a list of every where you want to go.. and then start crossing off places you've already been, or don't have an interest in..
then start looking around at what's left. and see what's most in your price range. are you guys still going to do the cruise?

I read your other post and that does suck but there are a hundred other places you could go. Try Europe or Bermuda (I loved Bermuda) --- just be sure to keep the plans to yourself.

What about if you pick another resort in mexico? (I think I remember reading that's where you were planning on going for your hm) or, write down everything you liked about where you wanted to go....take that to a ta, and see what other places they come up with.
yes, it's hard picking a hm, but it should also be fun. it stinks that your in laws would choose the same place you chose....and imo, a little weird, but try not to let that ruin what's going to be a wonderful hm for you (and when you choose a place, keep it a secret) good luck!

I read your previous post, and without sounding mean, I dont think it should be a problem if people travel to your resort before you. That is how I found the resort that we are staying at in MX. My sister has been there, raved about it and told us we should look into it. She is also going back there next month so she will be there twice before we actually make it there on our honeymoon. It works to our advantage. She told us which restaurants to eat at which ones were not so good. What nights we should stay at the hotel and see the entertainment and which nights we should go explore the city, etc. I think when we are planning our weddings we tend to be selfish and dont want anyone to do anything remtely similiar but we do have to stop and realize that the world does not revolve around us (as I have been told many times by my sisters).
I would really re-think all that has happened and maybe it doesnt need to be drama. JMHO...I am sure I will be talked about in FM's for this one!

I understand what you're saying. And while some I know that some may feel that way- I just don't. I wanted our HM to be special and perfect and the thought of everyone walking around the reception going 'you're going to have a great time, we just got back' is just not what I envisioned. That is why I have been trying to find something that no one I know has ever done before. There are a million resorts in the carribbean- I don't think it's too much for me to not want my fils to go there right before us-- not trying to sound snotty-- jmp too! :)
Anyways- semi-update- my FMIL felt terrible and while we told her not to change her plans because of us, she said that she just wouldnt have felt right going there knowing that it is where we wanted to go. So they changed to another resort in the Cancun- not riviera maya city. Still dont know what FH and I are going to do- but I think we may still go there- it's where we wanted to go and it would make my FMIL feel better to know that she didnt ruin our HM.

Not for nothing but I would be soooooooooo upset as well. I know it's childish and 'wrong' but I would be just as upset as you.
I totally understand where you are coming from. I would not want a family member, let alone my FILs booking my HM resort for a freaking vacation 4 months before I'm scheduled to go there.
I am NOT a bridezilla by any stretch of the imagination but would be if I was in your situation. Not to mention, even though they're changing they're plans, I'd have to pick a different resort too. Forever in my mind, that resort would be tainted - it would remind me of all my crying, know what I mean?
I don't know what else to say except I completely agree with you. I can, however, tell you that Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya, Mexico was PHENOMENAL. Seriously. Look into it.
