I am pasting the story below for your reading pleasure ;) and also a few photo photos from the dinner.

It all began with “Friday Night, Date Night”. Earlier this year, Ron and I decided to designate Friday nights as our weekly occasion to explore NYC restaurants, shows, cultural events, and everything else our lovely city had to offer. On this special night, November 5th, 2010, Ron took me to dinner at The Palm Restaurant (2nd Ave and 45th Street). We were greeted by the Maître’D and seated upstairs in their private dining room. Since we were the only ones there, we had our choice of tables and Ron chose the intimate corner by the window. As we normally do, we talked about our days at work and plans for the weekend.
Soon after we ordered our food, a female artist approached us and offered to draw a caricature for $25. She said we were such a lovely couple and would be delighted to capture our meal. Sensing a sales pitch, I was hesitant but Ron said “Why not, you’ve always wanted one”. I say “Ok, why not”, freshen up my hair and lipstick, and flash a megawatt smile. Three minutes later (or even less), she hands me this beautiful and truly accurate color picture of Ron and I. As I am looking at the picture, I start to notice that though the backdrop of the restaurant is correct, our clothing and table settings are not right. Ron asks me, “So what do you notice?” and I started my own game of “what’s different about this picture.”
After four of my answers are correct, I realized that the most important difference in the picture is that I am wearing an engagement ring in the photo. This is the moment that I realize that I am in the middle of my proposal. Of course, I am shocked and start to cry. Ron takes my hand, raises me from my chair and proceeds to get down on one knee. After a beautiful speech, I stop crying for a moment and say “Yes, I love you”. The Maitre’D, Waiter, and audience of diners, give us a standing ovation with cheers and applause. They present me with a bottle of champagne and huge bouquet of red roses. I soon learned that the entire room was “in” on the proposal and I was only one truly surprised. Then the artist handed me the one she drew in three minutes so we have that as a souvenir as well. It was beautiful, thank you all for listening
