Not having a good day today. I had to deal with a bunch of BS with trying to get my car fixed at the dealer today. They had my car for the last three days waiting for a part. It hasn't arrived yet so I pulled my car out so i can have it for the weekend... now I gotta spend time next week to re-drop it off again and deal with more BS.
I just got into work and I called St. Mary's in Roslyn to get info on having my wedding there. And the woman told me I couldn't get married there since I wasn't a parishoner or lived closeby.
I almost totally went off on the phone saying that is a total load of BS... but I just dropped it.
Now I have to find another place to have the wedding at.
Man I am pissed. I think I am just going to close the door to my office and put the 'Enter at your own risk' sign on the door.

Sorry! I think it is so nice that you are so involved in the wedding planning though--more so than your FW it seems.

Sorry you have to deal with all of this. But I do understand the Church - you could be taking away that date and time from someone who does go to the parish.
I hope you find a place.

Well... if I left the planning up to FW... it would be done last minute.
The stuff that only she can plan (IE the dresses - including her own)... hasn't even been done yet. She hasn't even attempted to look for bridesmaid dresses yet because one girl is prego (not delivering till Jan I think)... and her MOH is a BBW and my FW tells me she is going to have major issues finding a dress thats going to fit properly.
She saw a dress she liked at David's Bridal... but she is waiting for it to go on sale. I told her she should look in other places in the meantime... but she is just the 'lazy' type.
In her defense... it also helps to be able to do this stuff during the day. She has a job at Cablevision that has no internet access... and she can't make any personal calls. At least I can get stuff done during the day from my job.

Its slang for 'Big Beautiful Woman'. I guess its just another way of calling her 'Plus Sized'.
And just for the record to all the other plus sized women... I meant no offense with this comment. Just explaining the situation and what I was told from my FW. LOL

Sorry you are having a bad day.
I know what you mean about the planning.I am a little impatient too.
I can't imagineif FH's outfit took as much effort as mine did--I'd be bugging him everyday to getstarted!
It isn't too bad that she doesn't have a dress yet,but they take 4-8 months to come in,so she should look soon,but some people are just the type to get everything done at the last minute& not have any problems.

My friend had her reception at the Swan Club & she was also having problems with her original church, so they ended up having the ceremony at a RC church called St. Hyacinth, which is about 1-2 miles away from the Swan Club & she was very happy with everything there.

Seriously, sorry to hear about all your problems (both car and church related). I saw your post on BHB but cannot be of much help since I'm not a LI girl at heart. HOpe everything works out on that end.. It was so much easier getting married in DH's Greek church. NO precana, no drama.. gotta love it
Tell your FW if she needs any help with any planning, I'd be happy to. I cannot believe I'm saying this but lately I kinda miss the planning (Anthony is going to LOL at that one.. i drove him nuts for months pre-wedding ) Seriously as for her dress, she shouldn't stress it ... I ordered my gown online in Feb for our July wedding and still got it early (I truly believe the bridal shops lie to you about those things...) My girls ordered from Davids and got their gowns in 2 weeks.. so it is possible. And she probably won't have a huge problem with her girls in the long run.. The sizes are pretty wide-ranging. My 2 girls were COMPLETELY different sizes and still found a dress they both could wear

As for Churches.....I think but I am not sure so don't quote me....that St. Thomas in W. Hempstead (I think it's W. Hempstead?) will marry people not in the parish. And St. Agnes might, too.
