I am ready to tell my catering hall to screw off!!!

I am ready to tell my catering hall to screw off!!!

I am so sick of them telling me everything they won't/can't/don't do!!!!!!

Sometimes I feel like I made a big mistake by trying to do something different and having the wedding upstate.

For instance, I am going up this weekend for my tasting. FI can't come up, so I will be going with my mom and dad, brother and sister-in-law. They made it a point to remind me that the tasting is for 2 people only. I told them maybe they should make an exception in this case, after all, my parents ARE helping to pay for some of it!!! They said 'We'll see you Saturday.' Completely ignored me!
Fine, I don't need everyone to have their own meal, but COME ON!!! All I hear about is all the food you guys get at your tasting. And this is a MAJOR resort up there, sister to the Garden City Hotel!

When I first booked, I had to guarantee 40 rooms for Saturday night, or I would have to pay $5 extra per head, and now I have 65 rooms booked already. So what do they do for me? Nothing......

Sorry so long, I really need to vent....

I called one of the people I have been dealing with, waiting for a call back.

I would ask to speak to a manager.
Sometimes you need to speak to upper management to get what you want.

Sorry you are dealing with this.

Im so sorry you have to go through this. But I would suggest calling and asking to speak to a director. If you banquet manager is being this difficult, you really need to go above them and speak to someone who will appreciate the business you are bringing in. Good luck and keep us posted!

In the very beginning my mom called the general manager, he was even worse! They just think that because they are the SAGAMORE, they play by their own rules. They are really almost borderline rude with some of the things they have said to me.

I even called the GC Hotel and spoke to one of their managers, he said they would be fired if they spoke to their clients like that.

I think my next move is to call Preferred Hotels, but not until AFTER the wedding! Which doesn't really do anything for me.

I'm so sorry your having trouble with your hall. If I were you I would just show up there with my mother and father. If anyone says anything let them know that your FH was unable to attend and you drove 5 hours up there with BOTH of your parents- who by the way, are footing the bill (even if that's not true.)
Let them know for future referance that you are spending a boatload on your wedding and you expect better service for your money. Throw the GC Hotel's name into the mix and be like 'I know I would never recieve such horrible ustomer service there.'
Don't let them get away with anything! You're paying them, not the other way around.

I hear you. With way too many of my vendors, the answer is never yes.

What's up with that? Aren't WE paying THEM the $$$$$. By no means do I take advantage of the customer is always right phrase, but a little customer service never hurt!

I would just walk in there with your parents and FILs and act like you didn't know about the 2 person rule.

It's ridiculous anyway, esp when all these other people are contributing large amounts of $$$. Why wouldn't they want to taste the food that they're helping to pay for?

I couldn't see the BM kicking out people once you're there. They can make the same amt of food as they would for 2 ppl, just spread it out.

These vendors have to realize it's the most important day of our lives and no 2 weddings are exaclty alike. So bend a lil!!!

I agree...and to be honest, I would let their lack of customer service shine through on the tip you give them at the end of the wedding. People get tipped well when they deserve it.

I am certainly keeping their tips in mind, and of course I am dealing with 3 different people, who will all be expecting a tip! Oh, really?

It's ashame THEY aren't thinking of their tips. If they were they'd probably act more appropriately. Oh well- they'll learn!

Seriously....you are paying all this money to them..and THEY are giving you attitude and being short with you?? NO.NO..NO!!!!

You booked the hall, you love the hall..I am more than sure you will have a beautiful wedding,,,BUT they need to realize that being accomodating before the wedding is just as important as the wedding itself.....

Dont tolerate behavior like that, especially when your paying well over 30K to them..AND they are questioning how many people you are taking to the food tasting??
