I am seriously gonna cry for FH

We were in the ER last night because we came home from softball and FH's lower left part of of his back was so swollen and disfigured, he looked like Quasimodo and could barely walk. They diagnosed him with sciatica, and ER doc wants him to see an orthopedist, but every single one I've called doesn't take the BULLLLLLSHIIIITTTTTTTT insurance his job gave him

I'm ready to flip out on his boss when I go down there later to drop off his DR's note that says he can't come to work for 3 days, bc when FH called in today, his boss' only words were, 'You'll be in tomorrow right?'

I'm ready to wage war with boss and cry at the same time because if they didn't work FH like a dog and bittch and moan whenever he asks for a time off, LIKE TO GO TO A DR'S APPT, maybe it wouldn't have gotten so bad.

My FH has sciatia really bad. He drags his leg half the time. He also has 4 herniated disks in his lower back and they want to do spinal surgery on him soon. Just make sure he lays down, with ice on his lower back and his legs elevated. It's sad to say, there isn't much the doctor can do for nerve restriction and damage. FH has been to numerous specialists. They just run tests and give him pain meds.

I totally feel for him. I have sciatic and it started acting up on me this weekend. When he went to the ER did they give him the shot? If not maybe he can go to his regular dr and they can do something for him. Muscle relaxers help alot but I only take that at night.

i'm so sorry to hear that ... do you have a good insurance? maybe you should get married by a JOP real fast and have your FH go to an orthopedist provided by your insurance company.

go to your insurance company's website and look for an orthopedist there. they should give you a list of the ones in your area that takes the insurance. good luck i hope he feels better.

Omg, thats horrible! i am sorry that your FH and you have to go through this. I hope you find a good MD who takes that insurance! I hope he is feeling better soon

I hope he feels better... my mom has Sciatica also... but its never been like that... my sister had it when she was preggo... i know its really painful

Back Injuries are no joke, 2 years ago when I first had a problem I was out for a week, couldn't move, my one leg and right butt check/lower back hurt like hell, and my boss was so unforgiving (and i had exactly 5 sick days left so what was the big deal, it was december anyway).

turns out his wife has the same problem, and thank god too because she laid into him that's that bad. i have 3 herniated discs, and my right leg and right side hurt from long car rides, or even things like a friggan sneeze or a cough.

surgery is no option for me...they wanna fuse my discs together and to be honest I'm not up for being on my back for 3 months. maybe after the wedding, i'll think about it.

tell your FH to take hot baths whenever he could....always helps me. ice it once in a while too. motrin is good. physical therapy is honestly a waste, back injuries are no fun. good luck.

I feel so bad for your FH, I have sciatica (not that bad though) and lordosis (which hurts like hell). back problems are the worst! (I messed mine up yesterday moving furniture)

what kind of insurance does he have? I used to work for an orthopedic in smithtown, my sister in law still works there they also have an office in east islip. If they take his insurance she might be able to get him an appt asap.
