I have 2 very good friends who both moved to TX a few months apart. One is okay but the other just had to evacuate her brand new house.

Hope they will all be okay.

It truly is a scary thought! I have family & friends down there plus FH has family down there....So far everyone is ok, but I am praying for the best! Rita is already a category 5!

I know! Two huge hurricanes in a matter of weeks - the weather guy said that we usually would only see hurricanes this big every 20-30 years! I am convinced it has to do with global warming - I hope everyone on the coast of Texas evacuated just in case

i actually live in houston, and i wasnt worried at first, but now i'm starting to get a little scared. as of today, they are predicting the eye of the storm to come through the houston-galveston area.

there is only a voluntary evacuation order for the area in which i live. many of my friends have left for dallas, san antonio and austin. we are staying because my mom works at a hospital and will be there during the storm. i just dont feel right leaving the city w/o her.

please protect yourself first and foremost. I recently watched a show called Isaac's Storm on the Discovery Channel, it was about a hurricaine that it Galveston. I had no idea how vulnerable that city actually is.

Luckily if you can call it lucky, the storm has dropped to a Cat 4, and will probably be a 3 by the time it hits. Good luck to everyone down there - especially our fellow bride to be lcherian! Please lets us know how you and your family are after it passes! Thoughts and prayers are with you!
