i'm finally getting everything going, signing a contract with the riviera, making appointments with vendors, and i knew i wanted angelica glass as my photographer. my plans have changed so many times so i never booked with her, i emailed her today and she might have 2 weddings the week of my wedding (june 7th, 2007) so she wont be able to do my wedding if she has 2 booked. i cant even explain how upset i am. my heart really is set on her. she wont be able to tell me for sure until the 2nd week of september cause shes on vacation but im afraid if i dont book with something in blue now, the same thing will happen and i'm NOT looking for another photographer. it was always between those 2. if i go with SIB im gonna have to pay like 1200 more for them and beg them to stay for my whole wedding cause they usually stay only for an hour into your reception. ughh sorry i had to vent
Why would you even consider SIB? I wouldn't. Not for 1200 more and they don't stay for the whole reception. What about when you cut the cake at the end? I don't know - there are lots of Photographers out there. I say that if Angela Glass is booked then keep looking. Ask the girls for thier opinion on who they are/would use.

I know how you feel I had similar things happen. Maybe yo ucan book the other photographer and she (Angelica) can do a 'day after' shoot with you two? I know money's a big issue, but maybe you'll find ways to cut back on other things??
ETA: What about Christina Bhon? I've heard very good things about her!

I agree...1200 and they don't stay for the whole reception? all the reception photo ops are well AFTER the first hour....parent dances, cake cutting....

Keep looking you will find the one that you click with if your 1st choice doesn't work.......Im using Camelot Studios. They are great.... Love the work they have done..... you should check out the web site... camelotstudio.com

well i think its 1200 and they would stay for the whole thing and its 2 photographers thats the whole thing. thats what i liked about SIB more. SIB and angelica glass are more my style than patken or duet or any other photographers. i'm so picky cause i used to be a photographer. i feel like there arent any other photographers that are up to my standards (this is the only thing im a snob with i promise!! )

There's a lot of other photographers out there that have similar styles to the 2 that you mentioned. What about Andreas Rench? that's not spelled right but Lanabean used him/her. Or Willi Wong. Norrth Island Photography and Christina Bohn are 2 others for you to consider. I agree with the others re: SIB...that's ridiculous. In any event, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that Angelica Glass will be available for you.

Um, Kimmie, SIB does not leave 1/2 hour into your reception. I have them for ten hours on my wedding day. They will be there for half an hour after the wedding so they can take pics of the bridal suite at the Inn and of Dave carrying me over the threshold.

Doug is the owner of patken and he does amazing work... my brother is in the industry and chose him to do his wedding.... what about the photographer Natasha ?(not sure of her last name)

I wouldn't use SIB either-$1200 is a LOT and they should be staying for the entire wedding-if they dn't then they are a ripoff and cheating you.

I also want to suggest you consider Andreas Rentsch. I used him, and I love my photos and my album. He is an AMAZING old school photographer. He is truly an artist, and yet, he is so open to what you want. His prices are reasonable and he is a really nice guy, too.
