I am so confused... Please help.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
I think that you and FH should definitely start looking into some halls that you like. You are planning on getting married in Nov '07??? I think that once you narrow down your search and it gets closer to the date that you can book your ceremony then you go back to the hall that you want to book and ask them to hold it for you for a few days. Most halls will do that for you.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
well I am not sure when I am getting married yet.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
Go to the halls you like first and see what's available. More people vie for halls then churches, so you have a good chance of getting the church on the date the hall is available.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
Find a hall first. Places book up real quick.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
I booked the church before the hall. The church was more booked than my hall was.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
Tell the Church you're coming to them first, even if you're not.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
okay thanks
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
Laura, isn't this church your parish? If so why aren't you registered there?...Your family should be because your mom goes there every Sunday.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
Your getting married a couple of weeks after me and I booked my hall first and then the church. I booked both in Nov. 2005 and we were the first marriage in 2007 for the church.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
I booked Church first. Believe it or not, for May my church already had 4 dates for 07. Luckily I booked it when I did, and we got the date we wanted. What if you book the hall first, and the date isn't available at your church? That would suck!!! And i would hate to be married in a church I've never been to.

Re: I am so confused... Please help.
You should book the church first, that is the whole point of your wedding day right?
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
I looked at halls first, found out what dates were open and then went to my church with options. I found that on LI the places I liked were booked 1+ year out and I didn't want to limit my choices.

Re: I am so confused... Please help.
I would definitely book the church first. You can start to look at reception halls and if you really see one you REALLY want, then ask them if they could hold the date or to call you if anyone else is interested. It's worth a shot. I think in general though, they prefer you to book the church first.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
I booked the hall first and then the church, but i didn't tell my church.
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
IMO, you should pick your hall. Unless you have your heart set on that chrch, you can get another church or get married at your hall. But if you fall in love w/ a hall and then its booked, youll be really disappointed
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
I would go with halls first. It is much more difficult to reserve the date of your choice with a hall than a church
Re: I am so confused... Please help.
Check out halls first, but DON'T tell that to the church when you find one. They get upset about that.
