I am so embarrassed right now...

I'll start this off explaining that I have a complex about my head, I think it's too big and I'm pretty sensitive about it. That said, I decided to do something different with my hair this morning and instead of throwing it all back in a bun/ponytail or leaving it down like I alwasy do, I though it mgiht be a nice change to wear it half up with a barrette in the middle. I thought it looked decent when I left the house and didn't think anything of it after that. So, as I'm walking to my job, there's this one corner on Broadway where (for some reason) this same group of getto hoodrats all hang out every morning - I guess before they go to school or something.... Anyway, I'm walking down the street and I'm waiting at that light when I hear one of them shout 'Hey girl with the big head!'.... I'm thinking 'oh my god, they are talking about me!!' and then he SCREAMS it again, this time adding a lovely expletive, as if the insult wasn't enough. I couldn't even turn around to say something, I was so completely mortified that someone would do that!!! I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die I know it sounds really stupid, but I was so humiliated that I ripped the barette put of my hair when I got to work and put it all up in a bun.... I feel so ugly and embarassed right now - I want to just hide from everyone today because of that one stupid comment. What upsets me even more is that stupid getto rat got me so down and I hate that I'm even letting it bother me - but that's the ONE thing I have a complex about and it was just shouted out to the whole world!! What the h e l l is wrong with people?!?!? I just needed to vent because I need to try and feel better about this and you guys are always so awesome. Thanks for listening.

That is awful... I'm sorry. That's just hurtful and unnecessary. Sounds like those guys have the mentality of junior high school students! Those guys are just lashing out at strangers because they can't handle their own problems. They're trying to act tough because they have no self-esteem.

Just try to distract yourself... try not to replay the scene over and over in your mind. Easier said than done, I know.

If I'm remembering correctly, aren't you the very pretty woman whose friends have told her to go into modeling? (I apologize if I'm remembering the wrong person.)

You look beautiful in the picture you have in your profile, you have to think about who it was that made those comments, a bunch of kids hanging out on the corner that have nothing better to do with their time!

Honestly I have no idea if your head is big (I'm pretty sure it's not though!) - but you truly are beautiful.

Seems like bullies never grow up I'm sorry that happened to you. When I was a kid, I swear I had an adult sized butt - I grew into it now, I guess, but kids used to tease me about that so I know how you feel

It's really stupid, I know - I wanted to just go back and scream at those morons, but that's what they want - to get a rise out of people bc they have nothing better to do with thier pointless lives - wow, harsh?
Thanks again ladies for helping me to feel better about this little incident! It's never fun when people somehow just know which buttons to push that will upset you the most - but it's nice to know that you all got my back yo :) Sorry, I think I'm channeling that guy's speech or something!

I'm just going to laugh about this for the rest of the day, I think!!!! Thanks again for cheering me up!!

i'm so sorry that happened to you. you really are beautiful. i can't even count the number of times complete strangers have made comments to me on my height. i'm really short. i've had people scream out 'hey midget' or something similar. and i've actually had people ask me how tall i am! what the????? people are just stupid and ignorant. at least you have a great hubby, a job, and all your friends here and aren't hanging out on a street corner

I am so sorry you are sad about this.. It really sucks that people are so incredibly mean. It takes you back to grammer school when kids can be so cruel.

Just brush it off - and remember that you are beautiful (and I'm not just saying that .. you are stunning!)

Some people are just assh*les. One time someone tried calling out 'Hey Baby' or 'Yo Shorty' or something, and when I didn't respond he yelled 'You should be grateful someone is calling out to you still!' And I'm like - WHAT?! Grateful? Am I that OLD?! - but ONLY for a split second, then I realized what everyone else here has told you - these guys have NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH their lives than randomly pick on people and are just d*cks. Remember that you're beautiful and your DH thinks so as well as the rest of us.

And I don't think you have a big head at all, but I think I have a big forehead, so I know how it is to cover up like that and to have people pick on you. But you know what? My DH LIKES my forehead, and wants to see more of it, so who cares?
