I am so freakin pissed

we're having pre-cana this weekend -- or rather we're supposed to -- but now FH says he can't take the days off because of potential riots but they will allow him to do a tour change. So we'll go to the church tomorrow all day and he'll work the night tour and then drive back here to attend the second day of pre-cana on Sunday morning-- that's IF there are no problems and he doesn't have to stay at work because of an arrest or whatever.

Even if he makes it on Sunday with no problem, he will be exhausted so what is the point? He's not going to be into it (or get anything out of it) if he's that tired and then on sunday night he has to go back for another tour.

He requested these days off months ago.

I am so sick of the NYPD and their sh*t. He works in a sh*t neighborhood for seriously crappy pay and then they keep pulling bullsh*t like this

I wish he'd never applied -- this is not the first time his job has had to come first and it's not like they don't have enough cops -- they flooded the precint to the point where there's hardly any overtime!

Wow that is really rough... I would try to reschedule your PreCana if you can. We are going all day on May 17 if you want I can get you the info.

thank you -- I was heated when I wrote the OP!
I'm going to see what happens tonight (riot-wise) and then cancel if I need to. Our priest made it seem like it had to be done this month so I guess I should check with the church.

we did weekend precana too and saturday was the best day with the most helpful info and discussions
sunday was short and we had mass with ours too, so he wont miss that much if hes tired and not into it

I'm sorry!! My best friend's husband is NYPD too and he had put in for tomorrow night off for his god-daughter's wedding, and now he can't go to that either. Talk about mad!!

I'm sorry but I would call in sick. Not ethical I know but family comes first.

One day during a fight I told FH (screamed it really) that ME -- not the NYPD -- will be the one there for him caring for him if he's ever injured. I will be the one there for him thru thick and thin, for better or worse, and I have to come first.
