I am so scared. Please help me ease my mind. Yesterday, I was 5 weeks and 2 days preggo. I see a specialist because of the miscarriages I have had. So I go to him yesterday for my 1st app't since finding out I am preggo. They do an internal sonogram. So I see the girl go out of the room and get another girl to look at it. Now I am freaking out. So the Dr. comes in. They can't find any cardiac activity. So he tells me well it could just be too early, but to be sure, I want you to go for blood work again and check your HCG levels, make sure they are still rising... So now I am scared. I also go back next Wednesday for a repeat sonogram.
Do you think it is too early for them to see a heartbeat.??

YES!!! Its too early! Dont be worried I didnt first see the heart beat until 7 weeks! The doctor scared me like that too... At 5 weeks I had a sono and he said 'I cannot see the pregnancy' It was just too early!

Oh No, Denise - I just sent you a FM before reading this post. I am so sorry but it may well be too early which is why alot of doctors don't want to see you before 8 weeks. They can tell so much from the blood test so keep the faith that your levels are increasing. Are you still feeling pregnant?? Any spotting? When do you get the blood test results back?

Please don't stress yourself out! I saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks. I think 5 weeks is a little early .I am praying that everything is OK!

Denise, try not to worry. I was under the impression that you can't hear the heartbeat until 7 or 8 weeks, so try to relax. I know easier said than done.

Oh please don't be worried!!!! I remember when I was preggo with my son the Dr didn't even want me to come in for my first visit until I was at least 8 weeks. That way they are sure to see a heartbeat.
I think 5 weeks is to early to tell.

I did not see a heartbeat when I had a sono at 5 weeks - don't worry.

I didn;'t see the heartbeat at my 6 week sonogram. The lady that did it, said if I were to come in a week later, there is a world of difference in the sonogram and that I would see the heartbeat. Please dod not stress out, I'm sure everything is okay.

Ok, they called with the numbers!
I am 5 1/2 weeks preggo and the HCG was 25,527. Last week it was 490.!
He said it looks promising. However, I researched the number on the internet and it actually looks HIGH. It says high could mean twins??

I think its too early for that. It took a few appointments before we were able to hear the heartbeat. I don't know why they have everyone going for all these tests all the time. All it does is make us worry when everything is ok. I believe my first sonogram was at 9 weeks.
