I am so sick of hearing about Valentines Day!

Is anyone else really tired of hearing about Valentines day?!?!

I never really liked the day at all and I am so tired of it being soooooooo commercialized!

Its really getting to me and my dh feels the exact same way!

tell me about it, every commercial on Tv is just piling it on! Bleah!

Chocolate has always been good for you.. but yes.... every year or maybe every other, they remind us at valentines day... oddly enough NOT at Halloween! heh

Jim & I havent seen a thing.. but we don't watch commercials and we've been so tired for work lately we don't even realize what day it IS any more.

Im freaking out because we just found out he has Monday off and so do I and we have NOTHING planned!

I hear ya. That's why we are ordering in . Just the thought of going to a restaurant where they substitute the menu with a valentines, over-priced menu sickens me. And some palce is doing a dinner and having dancers. Yeah like i want to go pay >100$ for a dinner and watch people dance? I don't think so.

Never liked V-Day much ... and I still don't ... since its on a Saturday this weekend, its going to be crazy!!

We are ordering in & renting movies while babysitting my new nephew, so that his parents (my brother and sis-in-law) can have a night out on the town.

To me that is better than any fancy dinner out !!

This is totally random but...

My assistant - who I don't socialize with outside of work and only know on a professional basis - just came in my office to tell me that she bought a garter belt and stockings to wear for her DH on Valentine's Day.

Um...well...okay...you go, girl!

Imagine how single people must feel, if those who have loved ones feel so 'pressured' to perform, buy, spend, do, if you get what I am saying. Why not focus on putting this much energy all year thru in to making relationships better. I was listening to a radio program and they said these holidays have the highest rate of suicide, followed by Christmas, and New Year. Why all this push, is it really about love or is it really about the dollar

WELL SAID!

I think it started offf to be about love, but turned into being all about dollars!

To me, this is just another one of those Hallmark holidays, just like mother's day and to a much lesser extent, father's day. It's for card stores, flower shops & restaurants.

We are staying home

The only thing I look forward to with V-Day is going out to dinner because we don't do it often since we're tight on money. We're going to go out the next Saturday because he'll be working on V-Day which is even better because the restaurants won't be overcroweded.

I already told him not to buy me roses because I know how much they charge for the holiday, and I'd rather get them as a surprise on another day. What is it, like $60-100 for roses? There's nothing romantic about that.

This is why as the years progress I really and starting to not put so much emphasis on the holiday.
