Telling me to go cheap on my wedding!!!!!! I swear!!! Between my mom, my older brother, and my sister-in-law telling me where to get married and to not 'waste our money on guests eating chicken and prime rib'! ***?!?!?!?!?! Let's give them no frills mac and cheese then. And to 'keep looking'. We've been to 21 different places (not an exaggeration)... I hate this!!!! Wedding planning right now is so NOT fun.

You sound like me when I was shopping around for places...I also went to about 25 different places. Be frugle not cheap...find the best place for the amount of money you want to spend. Have you checked Larkfield Manor...as far as I know it was both mine and Diane's (Jesses Girl) second choice place. It is a great price (very willing to negotiate also) and so beautiful! What places do you have it narrowed down to...have you narrowed it down at all yeT?

Aww, Jenn.... Don't let the nay-sayer getcha down!!! Just remember that it's your wedding, no matter who's paying for it. Out of the 21 that you've seen, if you've already fallen in love with one of them, why keep looking? Everything you see is going to compare to that one that you love.

I sooooooooo understand what you're going through! And then when you book something that THEY think is too expensive, HEAVEN forbid they hear you complaining about money being tight! They automatically retort with 'well who told you to have such an extravagant wedding!' UGH!
It's because of this that FH and I have vowed to tell as few relatives as possible what we're paying. And sometimes, (depending on how we know the person will react) we'll lie and tell them we're paying less than we actually are just cause we don't want to deal with it!

i know how your feel. my mom kept saying theres no need to have a big wedding just have it at the fire house... but the best part is they are NOT paying for anything and yet they keep giving their advice when not asked. We are also getting your too young you shouldnt be getting married... but thats their opinion so ive just learned to take it with a grain of salt. We're taking their advice and just letting it go in one ear and out the other.
I have quite a bit of prices from Majestic Gardens ( our choice) Verdis of Westbury, Leonards of Great Neck, CLM, Coral house FM me if u want the quotes they gave me.

hehe that's why FH and I decided to pay for our own wedding early on. And even THEN his mom complains about every little thing. She even complained about where we wanted to register! When I first mentioned the hall that we wanted to go visit, she said DEFINITELY NOT! Wow...quite a strong opinion for someone who isn't paying for anything. Funny part is...that's the place we picked ! Just ignore everyone's big mouth flapping at you and do what you want to do. It's your day and you plan it any way you want!

isn't it ridiculous?!?! And believe it or not, FHs fam is the best - it's my fam that's killing us. His mom is a godsend. I love her!
The worst part is FH and my mom used to get along so great but now I think he's starting to not like her!!! Ugh!

Oh my god i know how you feel!!! I'm going through the same kind of thing right now...except my mom keeps nagging me to put the wedding on a different day during a different month..and is bugging me about finding the min, people requirement and how half of who i'm inviting won't show up!! wedding planning is really stressful for me right now too! I was crying my eyes out the other night
