About a week and a half ago I posted a topic about choosing between Maggie Sottero's Phillipa or Victoriana. I went back to Bridal Reflections last night, tried on a BUTT LOAD of dresses PLUS those 2 and now I'm more confused than ever!!!! ARG!!! Thank goodness I started early because I don't want to touch another dress for at least a MONTH.
I tried on a Paloma Blanca and I really liked it, but then I thought to myself, 'Is it too plain? Am I going to hate myself if I order it?' Plus, it was pretty pricey and i'd be going over my limit if I decided on it.
What the EFF is wrong with me!!!
What I need to do is go back to Burtons. The first or second dress I tried on there was GORGEOUS but they wouldn't tell me who made it!!! They kept avoiding the question and then FINALLY the woman was like, 'I THINK it's a Maggie.' She didn't tell me the style name though. BUHHHHHH!

I have been driving myself crazy with dresses for a month. I narrowed it down to 2...but I don't want to make a mistake and I can't make a decision!

i feel ur pain!!! im still dressless.. but i hate every dresss except a maggie i keep going back to. i guess im just scared to buy it?
at least u have time. how was ur exp with burtons other than them being shady with telling u the name of the designer?

dress shopping was annoying. i didnt love it, mostly because most of the samples were too small, but it was exhausting. those dresses are heavy and not easy to get in and out of. after trying on ten dresses i was done haha. i didnt like any of them. not one. then i saw a gown online and ended up calling tehm to see if they had it and they did and i ordered it. I love it but im not in love with it. You'll find one you love. The problem is that there are so many dresses out there and so many of them are beautiful. I had to stop looking after i bought my dress cause every dress i saw i was like 'is my dress better then this dress?' . It takes time but ull find the one!

Also... you said you tried the Paloma on at Bridal Relfections and it was pricey? I tried on one there as well, and then again at Lillette's. Lillette's price was $500 cheaper than Bridal Reflections!

Actually I really liked it there! Yeah, the shadiness was weird, but other than that, the two women there (carol was one of them and I think the other was her sister in law) were really cool to work with! The place looks small, but it holds a LOT of dresses. I'll probably go back next month and try on some more, plus that mystery Maggie.

umm.. i've been to about 6 places and tried on about... 30 dresses and i see 2-3 that i do really like but nothing that is like... BAM this is the one.

You girls make me feel sooooooooo behind. I haven't tried on ONE single dress yet! I feel like I should wait because I'm afraid if i find something I like right away I'll change my mind within the year before my wedding. Arghhh

I am getting married like two weeks after you and I havent tried on a single dress either!! 1) I am afraid I will change my mind 2) I want to be skinnier before I try anything.
Back to the original 'rant'.....why the heck wouldnt the lady tell you the name of the dress if you like it? Sounds like you should try somewhere else where they are more accomodating.

Take a break! It is a very overwhelming experience! This is what ultimately worked for me because I had a few I really liked that could have been 'the one' (that is, until I found 'the one'...). With many dresses (and in the case of all of the runners up), I could see my body in the dress, then I could look up and see my face. In the mirror, my eyes were literally going down to the dress, then up to my face. When I finally found 'the one', I was able to see ALL of me in the dress, face dress and all. I saw me, and not the dress. I hope this helps, I know this realization helped me out a lot.

The Paloma is stunning btw, very classic, not plain at all. I personally like that dress better than the other 2 you had posted the other day. But our opinions don't matter! It's what you see YOURSELF getting married in and wearing that day!

i felt the same way when i started dress shopping.
you should to go back to the first place and if you dont want to ask, bring someone with you who will have no problem finding out the dress and style name or #. your the bride.. turn into a bridezilla on them!!!

I am totally with you on this!!! Someone told me to 'STOP LOOKING AT DRESSES' because I keep going back to one - but I want to make sure it's 'the one'

ahh!! i went through the same thing!! don't worry, you will find THE ONE! have you checked the maggie website to see if you could find the mystery dress? it drives me crazy when they do that!! i found 2 dresses @ paradise bridal and i combed through brides.com searching for them til i found them! it was an obsession.

hmm...try brides.com where you can filter out by style, strapless, mermaid, lace etc. and see what pops up just in case it wasn't a maggie and they were trying to throw you off.

Ok, I tried Brides.com and I found this DRESS, but again I can't be certain PLUS it had a Lace-Up back just like a Maggie. I think it might be an old Maggie which stinks a little, but whatever.
