Had my second fitting. The lady says 'you said you didnt want it too low'.. uhm No I didn't!! Oh well, at least when I get into slippers it wont drag too much
I am just SO not happy with my dress. I mean it's not ugly, it's just not 'wow' Frankly I just don't CARE anymore
Think Im gonna change my 'timeline' to have photos done early cause I really dont care anymore if Jim sees it or not.
$1500 wasted! *shrug*

Is there any way that you can go to another store and buy another dress? I'm not sure if stores do this, but give them the dress you don't like for a reduced price on another dress. I see your wedding is coming up soon, but, if I were in your shoes I would go and see if I can find an off-the-rack dress. One of my friends actually got a dress on clearance and paid about $300 for it. Hope this helps. Things will work out.

You ahve enough time to bring it to another seamstress and add something to it (even jsta ccessories) that will make you more happy with it. there really may be a solution.
Don't think about or look at pics fo your dress for a few days. Then go back and think about what you want to look like. I'm sure there are some changes than can be made. My sister's seamstress added this full beaded modesty piece. It looked like part of the dress. so amazing, and it changed the look. maybe there's a sash or beading they can add. Buttons up the back? Some extra crinoline? Or maybe jsyt a pair of fabulous earrings?
Bets of luck. you'll be a gorgeous bride anyway. We are our own worst critics!

I'll play the part.. the day of I'll be happy for all the stuff going on.. but NOT because of my dress. I love my hair style and makeup.. but the dress is just such a small thing to me now.
It just sux. I go there and everytime I see all these brides so happy and giggly and I'm just left there waiting to be stuck in my little room. To have a lady who can never remember what I say about my dress tell me how I am the 'beautiful bride' as if I dont' REALIZE she says that to everyone.
You know. Maybe it would be different if they let me go out in the main area and FEEL like a bride. For now I feel like a chic playing dress up alone. And frankly that NEVER appealed to me!
*shrug*
It fits, that's what counts right?

Have you been going for fittings with family and frineds? Maybe it's just something about the whole dress situation that's getting you donw and not the dress. You deserve to love your dress.

I am getting married this Saturday....9/18....and two weeks ago I bought another wedding dress. I paid about $1,500 for my first dress which was just not doing it for me....and recently went back to where I tried on my first gown. That was it! The place where I bought my second dress even offered to sell my first dress (which I had already paid for) for me!
So far as I am concerned, it was a win-win situation. I didn't loss money on the 1st dress and I now have the gown I really wanted .....sure...it's only 5-6 hours of your live...but it is forever remembered in pictures.
Get the dress you want!!!!!! Don't wear this dress if it is not making you happy.
This will be you in a new dress!

I had a love hate relationship with my dress too....so I changed it. This dress though poofy lol made me feel like a princess...and I smiled all day..even did a little dance..if you dont feel comfortable in your dress it will show..so please have them alter it a little or buy a new one....so many dresses can be shiped to you in a matter of days.

you need to be happy..it's YOUR day...do what will make you feel best! It would be GREAT if you could sell your dress to a salon..go for it and let us all know how it goes!!!

I loved my dress until I developed the pics of my first fitting (yesterday). I think I look frumpy and the dress is PLAIN! Too late now...I bring it home today.

Don't listen to the seamstress ! she's probably 200 years old !! - and i'm not just saying this to try to make you feel better, but in my experience ALL seamstresses take the 'WOW' out of your gown b/c you tell them what you want and they make a face and tell you what you SHOULD do and then make you feel stupid about what you want and how you picture youself to look. - My friend wanted her train OFF. she didn't want a veil, didn't want a bustle, didn't want a train, bascially just wanted the white dress. - The seamstress repeatedly told her she didn't look like a 'bride' didn't look special blah blah. - She made my friend feel awful and second guess herself . - Go back, put you gown on - and go into the MAIN part of the store w/ a bunch of mirrors and look @ yourself .......bring your veil and your headpiece if you want to.........

You tell her Marisa&Brian... thats great advice. We've all been in the dress slump - sometimes you're just having a bad day. I personally wouldn't change the dress - there was a reason why you picked it in the first place. I found that when I do my hair nice & as lame as this sounds... use some of that tan in a bottle stuff - dresses look better.
