My mom is going to the vet tomorrow to put my dog down. She is 16 years old and over the last few days she has gotten significantly worse. She isnt keeping any food down and she can barely pick up her head.
I am such a mess and I dont know what I am going to do without her. I have had her ever since I was 11 years old. I dont want to be selfish and keep her in pain anymore but I dont want to say goodbye yet.
**Update** Sammy took turn for the worse last night but mde it through the night. She actually passed away on her way to the vet this morning so she was with family and went peacefully. I want to thank you ladies for all your thoughts and prayers. Myself and my family really appreciate it and I dont know what I would do without you ladies

I am so sorry My parents had to put down our dog a few months ago that we had for 15 years and it was so hard.. but you dont want them to be in pain. Just remember all the good times you had with your dog I am so sorry

I know I have been a mess all day. I look like someone punched me in my eyes. She was my baby its just so hard but I know she is in a better place and not in any pain anymore

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

That was so beautiful!!! Thank you so much for posting this. One of my dogs passed away on Saturday and its been horrible. Im in tears right now with this poem.
