I am sobbing...why are people so f-ed up!!!?? *UPDATE*

FH is a mailman and just called....on his route he came across a cat that looked like she was wet, had flies all over her, stunk, had a cut on her neck, skinny, and was shaking!!

He knocked on the door (to a very wealthy house) and the lady answered...she looked shocked when he asked if that was her cat...she was fumbling and said that she was old and she didn't know what happened to her and that she was bringing her to the vet TOMORROW!!!!!

He called me practically in tears himself and I called the ASPCA...they are on there way! I told FH to go back and check the house and if the ASPCA didn't take her (which I know they will in the condition it sounded she was in) I would go and take her to the vet and just pay for her to get better!!! UGh...why are people so cruel to animals!!!! I can't...I am sobbing!

UPDATE:
FH drove past house and searched the front for the kitty and she wasnt there..I just tried calling to get an update from ASPCA and I just missed their normal business hours....this is their emergency time so they didn't have the info...they said I could call tomorrow but she assured me they always get to the location so hopefully they got her!

This sounds like one of THOSE houses that is piled with garbage all over....one of THOSE houses that get in the news for having animals and a home they cant take care of.

I would not be surprised if we see this on the news soon.

I HATE HATE HATE hearing these stories!!! I'm sooo digusted with ANY person who treats animals poorly.

He didn't give the cat to the lady (using that term lightly... assshole would be more appropriate) did he??? That lady is an awful person!!! Flat out... awful awful inhumane person!!! I don't know why some people think it's OK to treat animals like that!! It really shows a lot about character... and if Oprah is right when she says you get back what you put out there.... then I can only hope that it comes back to haunt this sh!tty person in some way... tenfold!!!

I think you can also report her to 311... do you have 311 on li? If not there HAS to be someway to report her. I would report her REGARDLESS of what happens from here on out.

I can't even express enough how much I really hate these stories!! Even with that A HOLE Michael Vick and his dog thing.. UGH he is a disgusting person and he never should have been allowed to play sports again.

After seeing the lady's reaction .... OMG I would have gone off on her... I seriously would have told her that clearly she is a selfish disgrace for a human and doesn't deserve to take care of anything living especially this cat. Then I'd tell her that she's not getting this cat back and if I can help it she shouldn't be incharge of any other animal ever again because I'm reporting her. And if she has a problem with me stealing her cat she can bring up charges on me... because once they see the way she 'took care of' the cat the tables will surely be turned!!!

I'm officially depressed and will be thinking about this poor cat for the rest of the day. PLEASE keep us posted!!! I'm going to look out for an update thread.

OMG, I am sitting here crying hysterically. It's just not fair...why are people like this allowed to still have their pets when mine was taken away from me???? I can't tolerate this.

If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I'll call as a second witness if that's needed to expedite the situation.

FH wanted to take the cat but then he thought 'what if she has other animals in the same condition' When the ASPCA comes they will have to check her house! He gave the cat water and pet her and coxed her into the shade under the womans porch...the poor cat was so friendly FH said! He was so shaken...but I think we did the right thing by calling the ASPCA and letting them handle it because if we just took her (which we both SOOO would have...I have been rescuing cats for years now) if she had any other animals they would be suffering with no help in sight...I hope they lock her up!!!!!

The cat was outside on her property....we both figured that if she had any other animals the best thing would be for the ASPCA to go, help that cat, fine or jail her, and then see if she has any other animals in need of help. As hard as it was not to go there and pick her up and take her to the vet, this woman has to be held accountable.

I am going to call later this afternoon and ask for an update....if they didnt go then I will just go take the cat!!!

OMG! That poor baby!

OMG... that is horrible... I can't imagine how someone can do that.

I called aspca on my neighbors who left their pekenese dogs out in a SNOWSTORM for 2 freakin days!!!!!!!!! They were barking the entire time!!!!

What is wrong with people? My friend has a neighbor who just got a new puppy and they tie it to a tree all day and night. Been doing so all throughout the heat for the passed month or so. It's disgusting. All the dog does is bark!!

These people deserve to be tied to a tree morning noon and night in the heat and snowstorms to see if they like it. Either that or they should just DIE!! YUP I SAID IT!!!! They can go drop dead!!!

Sorry I'm harsh.. but I'm passionate about this!!!
