I am sobbing...why are people so f-ed up!!!?? UPDATE

FH is a mailman and just called....on his route he came across a cat that looked like she was wet, had flies all over her, stunk, had a cut on her neck, skinny, and was shaking!!

He knocked on the door (to a very wealthy house) and the lady answered...she looked shocked when he asked if that was her cat...she was fumbling and said that she was old and she didn't know what happened to her and that she was bringing her to the vet TOMORROW!!!!!

He called me practically in tears himself and I called the ASPCA...they are on there way! I told FH to go back and check the house and if the ASPCA didn't take her (which I know they will in the condition it sounded she was in) I would go and take her to the vet and just pay for her to get better!!! UGh...why are people so cruel to animals!!!! I can't...I am sobbing!

UPDATE:
FH drove past house and searched the front for the kitty and she wasnt there..I just tried calling to get an update from ASPCA and I just missed their normal business hours....this is their emergency time so they didn't have the info...they said I could call tomorrow but she assured me they always get to the location so hopefully they got her!

Oakdale....and I am agreeing..people who do this to animals should die!! The same horrible death that they cause their poor animals to suffer. I think Donna said it best...all they do is love you and ask very little of you. They are just so helpless!!!

I'm soooooooo with you! I called the ASPCA whenever I see any mistreatment. Ooo..actually... I actually have two cats right now that I'm trying to find homes for...I allowed them to have their babies, found all the babies homes, vaccinated and spayed the Moms.... now I'm on a search! They're both sooo loving any docile. Anyone interested??? FM if interested..I have pics I can send...

I would love to help but I have 3 cats inside (all of which are rescues) and I have 2 living in my garage...we put in a doggie door (and heaters in the winter) for them to get in and out....they just wouldnt be happy being inside kitties as much as I want them to be. Good luck!!!!

Yup that's for sure!! You can't really take an OUTSIDE can and make it and Indoor cat. They will always want to roam.

I also think that if you really love your cats you won't declaw them (unless you have some extenuating circumstance - but that's cruel to do if you really look it up) or let them roam outside (unless of course the cat became accustomed to it beforehand). I had a friend that did this with all her cats... she let them wander the neighborhood. I can't even tell you how many cats she never saw again... probably because something awful happened to them. And there were a few that we found dead in the street from being hit by a car. You would think she would learn her lesson after the first time.. but nope. She did it every single time she got another cat. And forget about what her dogs are like. She let them LIVE outside... they were NEVER allowed inside... and totally infested with fleas!!! Disgraceful!

It's good to know there are people like some of you out there... those of you who help these animals as you find them in need.

Omg that is horrible. Why do people treat animals this way?!!? People are sick! That was very nice of your FH to give the cat water.

Yes, very awesome of him! I'm such a nut that I keep a bag of cat food in my trunk and feed any strays that I see!

This is so horrible. I don't understand why people have pets if they can't take care of them. Like a PP said, animals ask very little and yet people can't even seem to do that.

It turns my stomach when i hear things like this.

I called aspca on my neighbors who left their pekenese dogs out in a SNOWSTORM for 2 freakin days!!!!!!!!! They were barking the entire time!!!!

What is wrong with people? My friend has a neighbor who just got a new puppy and they tie it to a tree all day and night. Been doing so all throughout the heat for the passed month or so. It's disgusting. All the dog does is bark!!

These people deserve to be tied to a tree morning noon and night in the heat and snowstorms to see if they like it. Either that or they should just DIE!! YUP I SAID IT!!!! They can go drop dead!!!

Sorry I'm harsh.. but I'm passionate about this!!!

If your friend wants she can call 311 or ASPCA. Seriously it works. That is so sad about the poor puppy being tied to the tree. And if she's concerned about her name she can either make one up or say she doesnt want to give her name.

FH wanted to take the cat but then he thought 'what if she has other animals in the same condition' When the ASPCA comes they will have to check her house! He gave the cat water and pet her and coxed her into the shade under the womans porch...the poor cat was so friendly FH said! He was so shaken...but I think we did the right thing by calling the ASPCA and letting them handle it because if we just took her (which we both SOOO would have...I have been rescuing cats for years now) if she had any other animals they would be suffering with no help in sight...I hope they lock her up!!!!!

can you call the ASPCA and get an update?

I am going to call later this afternoon and ask for an update....if they didnt go then I will just go take the cat!!!

please let us know what happened!!!

First- you have an amazing Fh- Not only was he walking around in this CRAZY heat today, doing a major service to people...But he stopped what he was doing to take the time to care about an animal?!?

My DH is the same way- and Its so beautiful to hear that there is someone else out there as kind and caring as you guys...

Years ago, we found a seagle that had a broken wing flopping into the belt parkway! I had to stop and had to help so I completely understadnd...

ASPCA is wonderful with those things. Keep me updated we've said major prayers for her... poor thing :(

That makes me so sad. I am glad your hubby did something about it. I am also so glad we did a donation to ASPCA for our wedding favor. Poor kitty.

I called the aspca this morning and all they could tell me was that an officer was assigned to the case. FH does not have that route today but he told the guy that does to look out for her....if she is still there he is going to go get her...he brought one of our cat carriers to work with him so he can grab her if need be. I hope she is ok!!!!!!

okay good-
I have an extra carrier if u need to keep her in... and an awesome vet i travel all the way to Staten island for- who specifically deals with these things...

Thank goodness for u guys caring so much! Another kitty saved!
