I think you are doing the right thing by going to support your sister. You dont have a relationship with your this woman so as mean as she can be.. please try not to let it get to you...
Maybe she wasnt doing it intentionally to upset you but maybe she just is not a thoughtful person and completley forgot about you FI.. either one is bad I know but just trying to see it from a different way.
Seems as though you are the better person and that should be enough to make you smile..

Marcela- I wish there was something I could say but I can't find any words. Only you know what you and your mother have been through and you should be commended for standing up for her. Go with your FH and be there for your sister. It's going to be hard but as the saying goes 'Kill them with kindness'

Don't let your father's wife get to you. This really upsets me I HATE IT when women use their children against people. I have the priviledge of experiencing this with FH's dumb broad of a sister and her son.
You and your mom are the better people. Hold your head up high my friend as I am sure you already do. You will be at your sister's confirmation to support her and her alone. Good for you for standing up to her and defending your mom.

Your stepmother will probably always be jealous of both of you.

Marcella: OMG I am so sorry you have to go thru this. I wish I had the magic power to make this woman disappear so you wouldnt have to deal with her.

That is such a wonderful thing your sister did of asking you to be her sponsor for her confirmation. You must feel so honored. On the day of her confirmation, you walk in with your head held high and be proud to be her sponser and of course her sister.

Dont let this woman get to you. I know a lot easier said then done, but you are the better person and you are the nicer person. Dont let her negativity ruin anything for you.

Just smile. If she does anything to tick you off, just smile and people will think you are up to something.

Feel free to vent to us anytime. It does help.

Marcela, You always sound so nice in all your posts that I can't imagne someone could treat you like this. I'm sorry for what you're going throug but feel sorry for this woman because she lives day in and day out with this jealousy and hatred inside her. She is just poisoning herself. Be there for your sister and don't let anyone ruin it for you! Good luck! and congrats to your mom, she sounds wonderful!!

Jealousy has no limits...and unfortunately I'm very familiar with jealous step-mother types, though fortunately my dad never remarried. You go in there with your head held high and full of pride and set a good example for your sister, since her mother is obviously incapable of setting one for her own daughter. Being the better person isn't always easy but it gives the other person lots of opportunity to make themselves look bad...everything comes full circle - she'll get hers one day!
