I am such an idiot

My boss' boss just came over to tell me about a HUGE change in something I'm working on (good change, but still - a huge one). I was really shocked, and in my head I said to him 'oh wow, that's great'

What came out of my mouth? 'Shut up!'

In like a total valley girl tone. that was so unprofessional LOL - I think I'm just tired from working so much. He kind of laughed it off but I can't believe I did that.

I'm slightly mortified. I probably look like such a teenager right now.

You aren't an idiot!!! I'm sure it's happened before and you never know...when you get a big promotion and have people working under you...someone might do the same thing and you can look back and laugh!
